Hopper Software x43

Did the upgrade with Plus box this morning. The operation is considerably different, and produces several error messages. Spent an hour following the on-screen directions, then another hour with tech support after the entire box appeared to be bricked. At the tail end of the call I got distracted, and with a fatal error message the box rebooted several more times and finally started working. Now successfully on H343, hoping it improves my so-far-awful Dish odyssey.

Welcome to SatGuys. I have had that same issue last couple manual software upgrades for my Hopper Plus too. I am no longer going to force the Plus update. The hell with it. Too much headache for me. My Hopper 3 manual upgrade works great.

My Hopper Plus upgraded to software H343 over nite. Skip forward and back lag time is still too slow for me. Takes about 3 seconds. My Hopper 3 takes about 1/2 second. Going to keep my Plus setup on my spare Hopper 3 for now. I can't wait for the lag time issue to improve so I can move it to my primary Hopper 3.

Mine even before software changes only takes 1-2 seconds. And without the plus it was almost instant, 1/4 second at most. Seems like your hardware is just slower than normal to begin with lol.

Could be my equipment. I checked my Plus skip forward/back lag time again and I am coming up with 2.69 seconds. But I am getting up there in years of old age. Your ticker might be a little quicker than mine!! LOL. Regardless, the Plus is still much slower than the Hopper 3. My commander of the war department wouldn't tolerate that, if you know what I mean!!

I presume, after all the upgrades, you did a power cord reboot of the whole system?

Is it possible to REMOVE the Plus? I've tried disconnecting the USB cable and moving the HDMI to the Hopper3, but it just throws an unrecoverable error.
When you do that, you should get a blue screen telling you that the HDMI cable has been removed. Just let it sit there for about seven or eight minutes and it will reboot when it comes back up, it’ll be just a regular hopper again.

Be patient and keep trying. It took me 4 tries this morning. I used the update tool, 3 times it went through as usual but when it came back up with live TV and the home screen it was still on 339. Finally on the 4th try it updated.
I checked this morning, still at 339, but still no opportune time has shown up to try the update again... :(

OK, thanks! I did in fact get that message, but didn't know I could wait through it. Is that a one-time thing, or do you have to wait for a second reboot after any power outage? If it's a sticky change, how would you go about returning to using the Plus?

It's only the one time you remove the Plus. If you put the plus back, it'll reboot again to the AndroidOS. If you remove the plus, you have to go through the same 7 minute wait again

With H343 update in my Hopper 3 the Joey WAP signal strength is gone again. It came back with the software H339 roll back. Use to be in the Diagnostics > Whole Home > Wireless Joey AP2 > Details. There is a note that says to check to check installation quality in the WJ network screen. In the WJ network screen it gives the network connection signal strength but not the WAP signal strength. The WAP signal strength in my Hopper Plus that is also on H343 is there. Anyone else that has a H3, WAP, and WJs seeing this too on software H343?
