NFL 2025-2026 Season

I watched the play in Denver that was ruled as an interception. To me it looked like the Buffalo player caught the ball and it wasn't moving and his knee touched the ground before the defensive player stripped the ball from the receiver. It should have been ruled a completed catch. I think they should have looked at it more closely. I'm not a Bills or Broncos fan.

I think the officials got it right in the Bears/Rams game which was nearly identical to the play in the Bills and Broncos game. I'm not a Bears or a Rams fan.
I thought they should have looked at it regardless ...
They according to the Rule book, look at all scoring plays.
Are Turn overs Not in that section as well ????

They should be, what happens if its turned over in the endzone.
========================================================================================================
Calling the plays a catch or not is way to subjective to what you want to see ...
=========================================================================================================
Back in the College game, Buckeyes WR J. Smith caught a ball, around the goal line, crossed the goal line .. (which makes it a TD as long as any part of the ball touches the Goal line) after crossing the goal line, bobled the ball (did Not Drop the ball ) and they wanted to call it a FUMBLE .... Say WHAT ????

It was called a TD as it should have been .... q. was, WHY would they think thats a FUMBLE, he didn't drop the ball ...

The Bills window might be closing. If the Pats are legit they will be in the mix going forward. This was their year to win a title. Allen won't be in his prime for much longer with the younger QBs coming up.
After watching many Pats games this year. I would say your 50/50. That easy schedule was in plain view yesterday.....Now play 3 or more real teams, you dont have a record close to that. Like the front line, I see a above average QB, who dosent throw bullets!

You think the game would be close next week if Bo Dix was in? You will see another good defense, see how the Pats offense does.

The next game was held up, kickoff was already delayed.

In the NFL a caught pass is defined as 2 feet and a football act - or 2 feet and surviving the ground. For the latter, you can't get 2 feet down and then drop the ball, or hit the ground and it bounces out - it's what you hear over and over every game - you must complete the process of the catch. That's essentially what happened here. There have certainly been consistency and transparency issues with 'what is a catch' but under the current rules there's nothing clear and obvious to demonstrate this was a catch in favor of the Bills.

All turnovers are confirmed by replay. If it's not clear and obvious then that triggers a full review.

I'm not going to criticize the call. I do know that it is the policy of officials to let the action play itself out, and then correct it later on review if they get it wrong. I do believe that if they had called it a catch on the field, that it would not have been overturned on review.

I watched the replay multiple times on my DVR. I saw the receiver lying on his back with both hands on the ball. Did he have control? I don't know. I think it's a judgment call. However, there's no way I would ever use the words "clear and obvious" to describe the final ruling.

On the other game, I'm not a Houston fan, per se, although I live just 80 miles from Houston. I was pulling for them Sunday. Three observations. CJ Stroud has never played up to his rookie season when he was loose and free. Sunday, Stroud looked like a deer in the headlights, scared. The Texans weren't prepared to play in that weather, for whatever reason.

My thoughts about CJ Stroud and his issues ....
Give the Man a REAL Offensive Line that can BLOCK Something/ANYTHING and they will do fine.
He was missing his Top 3 offensive threats Nico Collins, Dalton Schultz went out early in the game ...
They couldn't Run the ball to set up the passing game at all.
Also, thier #1 RB (Joe Mixon) played his 1st and 2nd year and has been out ALL Season ...

Houstion was VERY handicapped yesterday ....

New England Played Very well Defensively, they put pressure on CJ 99% of the passing plays.

Neither Offense played all that well.
Both Defenses Played very well.

Let's not get too crazy on the Pats yet.
Yes, Maye is a really good QB and they have a good coach in Vraebel now.
They also had the easiest schedule in their last 25 years.
They played a Houston team where Stroud completely fell apart, playing maybe his worst game ever, and as said above, was missing a lot of key players, and the real injustice is that with Nix out, they have a walk-in to the Super Bowl.

As far as the Bills' window, Allen will only be 30 when the 2026 season starts

What about Mc Dermitt to the Steelers ?
Of course he wouldn't be Blessed with a Super Star in the making at QB ...
Or maybe Rodgers comes back (if they reel in a very good coach).

Is Mc Dermitt a developer of QB's ?

Or IF, Josh Allen is Aavailable, hello, Pittsburgh on LINE 1 (I'd take Allen over Rodgers in a heartbeat .
Allen will never leave Buffalo and Rodgers is way past his prime and it shows

The ref never even went to the Booth. The Bills called time out to stop the Broncos from running a play and he still never even looked at it.

How is this not a catch

He can, he threw three of them against the Texans. Maye at times is the best QB in the league. At times...

The truth is the Patriots primary strength is the coaching. McDaniel is one of the best OCs ever. And Vrabel has a mind f9r defense.

Thus Patriots team is overperforming but they have a wild card like quality. I would have expected Denver to win with Nix. They still could.

Even with NIx, I think New England would Win.

The thing is that I see a lot of the 2001 Patriots in the 2025 Broncos. The whole being greater than the sum of the parts.

The Patriots beat a battered Texans team. Yes, they kind of overcame the Texan defense, but it was the Patriots' defense against a battered Texan offense that won the game.

Exactly, the Texans Defense was out there the whole game, making it very difficult ... and it Still ended up being a close game till the very end.

Offensive line play Sucked big time for Houston and the NE Dline and LB's came on most every play ... why wouldn't you when the O Line counldn't keep you out long enough to make a play downfield.

I agree. What they did is what they have been calling an expedited review.

The NFL uses an "expedited review" system, especially in overtime, allowing the league's central command (Art McNally GameDay Central) and replay officials to quickly review objective plays (like spot of ball, possession, or down by contact) using all camera angles and communicate corrections to the referee, reducing stoppages and coach challenges, though controversies arise when clear errors are missed, like in recent playoff games, highlighting tension between game flow, accuracy, and coach frustration.

In other words, doing the one thing that people complain the most about when it comes to officiating. Having a direct effect on the outcome of the game.
