I am a new member.I am thinking of replacing my analog receiver with 4dtv, will this get the channels of the fta receivers.

No. It will get you subscription channels, like you can get with Cable, or D*, or E*. Only, they will have better picture quality.

Yes you sub, though the programming is cheaper than pizza and cable, look at the provider website for programming pricing and options:

Yes I do subscribe but I am loosing my analog channels,I do not watch much TV I like news and misc.If there are news feeds maybe I will invest in a FTA rec.

With a big dish it's best to have a 4dtv a c/ku feed and a dvb receiver slaved, you can look at the programming providers websites to see what programming you will get on 4dtv, and you can look at lyngsat to see whats on dvb.

I bought a used 4dtv rec two weeks ago.C-band digital is working great I am in the process of getting a dual feedhorn.was supprised the old lnb worked.

Cool, 4dtv is great if you have a hdtv you mite want to look around for a HDD 200 or 201 the HD on the big dish is great, the SD when looking at the master feeds are also very good looking.

Yes, somewhat. I still think they look better than pizza dish though.

The HITS feeds are ok, I find them a touch better than pizza passed through S-video, the NPS reuplinks are sadly a different story, I can't watch those on my TV and that is one reason I do not sub to the AD.
