Florida did not run the score up. They only scored one time in the second half.

So, if the score was 34 - 14, that wouldhave placed doubt in the media's minds , the ones that vote for the Championship ?

The media had NO say in the Championship, there is NO way the media could look at a 34-14 win and think that OSU should win it....
For that matter, if it ended up 24-14 they would not have doubted it.

Jimbo

NOt really in the final game but the rankings. Media still vote dont they? And you are telling me there wouldnt be some on the fence or mixed counts if the score was 24-23. Come on.

I'm talking about a blowout that this was.

If Flordia won 24-23, It would have been a clasic game andFlordia would be the NC's
If the reverse was true and OSU won 24-23 wouldn't OSU be champs ?

The media vote in ONE poll, the GAME decides the other poll, are you afraid Michigan would pass you if you didn't run up the score ?

Would you of rather them just downed it at 4th and goal? or hit a field goal? I mean i think fla just gambled.. If they didnt make it then osu gets the ball on their own what 2 yard line? if florida makes it they get a td... I think florida was having fun, and they wanted to show EVERYONE who doubted them that this victory wasnt just a falsey but they earned it.. YA know if florida would of won by a field goal or 1 point their be plenty of doubt if they deserved the title.. They ran up the score now their is no doubt they are champions..

Sorry Steve,
My mistake, I thought that Flordia scored in the last few minutes, after looking at the stats, it was with 8 minutes left.
I just felt like they scored on every possession in the 2nd half.

OSU's D* played better in the 2nd half, but the game was long over by then.

as for the game, florida executed it to near, flawless perfection. that was the first time this season that happened.

They did play a near perfect game. All the mistakes that they made throughout the year is why I thought OSU would have won.

OSU did not look like they were ready to play the game. I think that all the media saying that Florida did not stand a chance really hurt them. They went into the game with an over inflated ego and did not perform up to their capabilities.

Jimbo, you have stated repeatedly, that giving Tressel extra time to prepare for a game, he doesn't lose. Was 51 days too little or too much time to prepare?

I call B.S.

99 % of TOP teams do NOT do this.
I do not think that is Urban's way either, at least it hasn't been.

I see 19 blow outs buy top teams.

I know there are other teams that aren't powerhouses who blow out other teams why do all teams do this, to show the voters what a dominate team they are to get a higher number.

my friend who was at the game said he was 14 rows up in the lower section so afterward, he was able to run down to the field and hi-five some of the gator players who were taking a victory lap.

I did not know that you consider a 42 to 39 win by OSU over Michigan a blowout. If this is the case all games won by at least 3 points would be a blowout.

Why were these not blowouts if the others were?

I think he was just underlining all the high scores.. But that one doesnt take away the many other examples..

I have a friend from high school who lives in Florida. She has been loving the emails about the gators since she lives amongst the fans down there. She sent me this "theory" on the disappointing game Monday night and I wanted to pass it on to you becuz, quite frankly it deserves consideration...remember that Michigan wanted to be in this bowl? Remember how they played in their - let's call it - their first bowl this year?

We decided that the Buckeyes were abducted (maybe by aliens) and replaced with Michigan players disguised as Buckeyes! There is no other logical explanation!
