Upconverted 480i? I never saw anything upconverted on YES-HD, it was either 1080i or 480i pillarboxed. Only games were HD, everything else was SD on the HD channel, until April 1st of this year, per that link!

480i was upconverted to 1080i on the channel, it just wasent widescreen, and it was upconverted so its wasnt nearly as sharp as true 1080i HD.
But if you were to test the sgnal even though it was shot in 480i and was pillarboxed it was being upconverted, not very well I might add...

That's probably where Phil Swann got his story from, Raoul. ;)

I got it from a friend that works for Cox here in CT. He told me in December that YES hd would be full time starting at the beginning of the baseball season. It looks like it already is.

Well - yeah. It has been on full-time on DirecTV since March 2nd. I think whats going to change is the AMOUNT of HD programming (such as the studio shows right away), and perhaps the future tapings of CenterStage. But YES-HD is 'on-the-air' full time ALREADY. Perhaps, they just haven't 'officially' gone full-time.

Really. How do you feel about underpaid tighteners?

??
Well I sure hate the 'Lovable Losers' on the other side of town.
...I Just Couldn't Resist.

Comcast Chicago HD ...spotbeam or not????

Sox 2, Cubs 0 Spring Training '07...I know it doesn't count or mean anything...
 :hungry: for HD-RSN's whether they are on DISH or Direct...

hey, has anybody else noticed two channel 622's and two channel 625's in their guides? that's YES and SNY. i'm thinking its because of the full-time hd programming. but my question is: why would it show up in my guide when i'm in florida?

Don't exactly know why - but I can FACTUALLY tell you that since March 2nd, I have had 3 channel 622's and 3 channel 625's in my programmaning guide (I am in the NYC home DMA). The third one on each is the HD channel, the other 2 are SD versions. What I haven't tried to test is if you would still be getting 2 of each on H10 or H10-250 (MPEG2 only). I am just wondering if the 2nd and 3rd version of each is coming down from SW1 or SW2 while the first version is coming down from the 101 spot.

that's interesting....maybe, i should double check my guide again....since you say, you are getting 3 of each!

I think being outside of the NY dma means you won't see more than one in the guide.

Anybody in the CT(Hartford) DMA getting Yes HD or did they(Directv) not figure out how to get it to all people whoe get YES SD, because they have it on spotbeam(NESN has been this way too, I believe)?

This is yet another thing(the lack of dual buffers on the HR-20 is the first) holding me back from going to the 5LNB dish and the non-Tivo based HD DVR. I am in the Hartford DMA and so far, from what others have said, even tho NESN is my HOME RSN, since it is on spotbeam, I will not get it. Now YESHD seems to be in the same category, even tho everyone in CT is able to get YES SD.

You are correct in your assumtions. You won't get NESN and YES in hd until the new sats are up, and even then there is no guarantee that you will. You could "move" to the Boston or NY dma and get either rsn in hd, but then you would lose the other in sd.
