My first H20 was a H20-600, which had heat issues and was starting to act, well, "funky." It was replaced with an H20-100 which looked brand new to me. I'm only using HDMI on it and it works just fine. Of course, my unit was replaced quite a while back - maybe my experience is not the case now.

I have a Toshiba 37" LCD HDTV that also has a native mode of 720p. I've tried all the options on my H20 and have decided that that best picture is found using native mode on the H20. The TV has a lot better -- more expensive -- electronics in it to do upscaling/downscaling than the H20 does.

It should be noted that this only concerned the H20-600 - not the H20-100. But, you are right - that was one strange design problem.

Any guess as to when Jackson, MS will get HD channels? I live in Vicksburg - far enough that I would have to install a pretty large directional antenna to pick up over the air. I would very much like to avoid this expense.

My DirecTV installer did my pole install for free. I think the installer from from Bruister and Assoc. 4 televisions, including an HD set, the AT-9 dish. Everything was free and he took his time and did a great job. Was on site for over 4 hours. He also arrived with everything he needed...

The pressure put on DirecTV by folks moving their accounts - like Sean - hopefully will make DirecTV change their ways. Just make sure, Sean, that you call them and let them know you are switching and why.

My H20-100 got updated at 3:10am on Wednesday July 19. The update was called "100C". I'm not sure what changed. Does anyone else know??
