    H20 HDMI failure

Yup. Thats a load 'o dung. I also use HDMI on my H20-100. No problems at all.

    HR20 Ratio Setting

Most of the time your TV is going to do the conversion anyway - with much more expensive circuitry which is fine-tuned to your specific display. For example, my LCD TV has a native resolution of 720p. EVERYTHING that is displayed on that unit is converted, by the TV to 720p. Therefore, I just...

Yet another new H20 Horror Story...

My first H20 was a H20-600, which had heat issues and was starting to act, well, "funky." It was replaced with an H20-100 which looked brand new to me. I'm only using HDMI on it and it works just fine. Of course, my unit was replaced quite a while back - maybe my experience is not the case now.

DIRECTV to Deliver Local HD Programming in 67 Markets by Year End

Jackson, MS - the city where the first RCA DSS system was launched in '94 is STILL not on the list.... *sigh* 1994: The RCA Digital Satellite System (DSS) Begins Broadcasting The RCA DSS system or DirecTV was the first small-dish satellite system on the market, and the small space...

    HD resolution question

I have a Toshiba 37" LCD HDTV that also has a native mode of 720p. I've tried all the options on my H20 and have decided that that best picture is found using native mode on the H20. The TV has a lot better -- more expensive -- electronics in it to do upscaling/downscaling than the H20 does.

    KC vs Cin game stuttering

I lost audio at halftime and through most of the 3rd quarter. ONLY happened on the Bengals-Chiefs HD game on 723. The SD version on 708 was fine. I called DirecTV, and after being on hold for about 10 minutes and working with an idiot tech person, the audio finally came back on its own...

NFL ticket - Superfan - Double Billing us ?

Yeah, I agree. Its not right. But I am getting SuperFan for free since I subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket before April 30, so I'm not complaining too much. I think its a bit ironic that they want you to pay extra for SuperFan when the "Interactive" features of SuperFan require the "Active"...

HR20 - Release in August (LA to be the first)

It should be noted that this only concerned the H20-600 - not the H20-100. But, you are right - that was one strange design problem.

    Jackson, MS HDTV channels

Any guess as to when Jackson, MS will get HD channels? I live in Vicksburg - far enough that I would have to install a pretty large directional antenna to pick up over the air. I would very much like to avoid this expense.

$180 a little high for a pole install?

My DirecTV installer did my pole install for free. I think the installer from from Bruister and Assoc. 4 televisions, including an HD set, the AT-9 dish. Everything was free and he took his time and did a great job. Was on site for over 4 hours. He also arrived with everything he needed...

    Finally!

The pressure put on DirecTV by folks moving their accounts - like Sean - hopefully will make DirecTV change their ways. Just make sure, Sean, that you call them and let them know you are switching and why.

Checking the back of the unit is one way. Should be on a label.

    H20 = J-u-n-k

I've had my H20-100 since about April. Have never had a single automatic reboot.

    H20-*** question

I've had both - the 600 and the 100. The 600 was VERY hot, and had other oddities --like the documented problem with stereo sound out of the optical out (you have to plug in RCA cables into the 600 outputs to get the output from the optical to be stereo). The 600 menu was VERY much slower than...

    H20-100 Firmware Updated

My H20-100 got updated at 3:10am on Wednesday July 19. The update was called "100C". I'm not sure what changed. Does anyone else know??

Warning.....do Not Force Download The New H20 Firmware......

Is this update for the H20-600 or H20-100? UPDATE: Oops, I guess from the other thread this is an H20-600 update. So, there STILL has never been an update for the H20-100??? That must mean RCA got it right the first time. I would, however, like to see the "active" button activated.

    NFL Superfan

It didn't show up on my account either. I had to call them and remind them. They said they would take care of it, and, sure enough, the next day SuperFan was reflected on my on-line account information. I would call them if I were you.

    NFL Superfan

I got SuperFan for free. DirecTV had a special for those who signed up for Sunday Ticket prior to April 30 - free Superfan. They lived up to it -- although I had to call them several weeks later to make sure they reflected it accurately on my account. I must say, without this special offer...

    Some new install questions.

Im my case - a brick house - they routed the wire along the outside of the house and then into the rooms. As this was how my cable was wired as well, the DirecTV guy pretty much used the existing holes - although in one room he drilled a new hole for me as the cable outlet was on the opposite...

    New H20 Reciever?

I do notice a popping sound on my H20-100 -- particularly on the XM-radio channels when I change from one to another. The H20-600 didn't do this. I noticed lip sync problems occasionally on both the 100 and the 600.

    Does your H-20 do this?

I have a Toshiba LCD TV (37HL95) and only had one difficulty with the picture. When I had the "auto-adjust" turned on (I think thats the name, its the feature which is supposed to automatically adjust the screen for different dimensions for digital signals) - the SD display would sometimes mess...

    New H20 Reciever?

I traded in an H20-600 for an H20-100 and I, too, noticed a difference in the fonts on the menus. They were more detailed-looking (crisper) on the 600. However, that may very well be why the menus and guide are so much faster on the 100. As far as picture quality is concerned, I think the...

    Say Goodbye To Direct Tv!

Competition is a GOOD THING and can only help us ALL in the long run as providers are forced to cut costs. My own local cable company is clueless, however, and not helping in this process.
