Hopper 3 Available Jan. 30th

Couple of questions.

If I upgrade to the H3 from my H w/ Sling, but only 1 of my TV's is 4k. Will the tech upgrade my joeys too (atm they are Joey 1's I believe) for the same cost as upgrading would otherwise be.

More importantly can the newer joeys that are 4k compatible ALSO provide lower resolutions so I can use then on my other 1080p T.V.s until i eventually upgrade those??

Finally, all this talk of getting a "free" year of netflix, will this only apply to new customers who previously did not have dish

I am an in contract good standing dish customer for the record. Thanks in advance guys (and girls).

Joey 1's are not allowed with H3 so yes, joey 2's are free upfront and 4k joeys cost $50

All receivers can output the lower resolutions.

Free yr of Netflix is only for new customers, since you are still in contract, your deal may not be the same as others.

Thanks for the great info, it's much appreciated. This may be a stupid question , but when the members of the dirt team get to our applications for the upgrade, they will have all the info such as pricing, what we qualify for , what we CAN and SHOULD get etc and will talk it through with us before purchase or not????

Sorry for the newbish questions , never dealt with DIRT before!

thanks

Again.

I imagine it will be a back and forth exchange of information to get you what you need/want. Through private messages

I have a couple hopper 2's, I own one and lease the other and qualify for a free upgrade. I use #1 to output via component cables to my 4k living room tv and run the hdmi to my bedroom 4k. the other hopper 2 is running hdmi to my family room 4k. My 1st question is if anybody knows if the H3 will output 4k thru the component cables? My other question is...can I use the H2 with the H3 system ?
I've just started reading many posts but since this thread is so active I thought I could get a quick answer before Dirt contacts me. I don't think I need to have 4k on all tv's except the living room plus I like having 1 hopper connected to 2 tv's since I move around the house a lot but still watch the same thing.

I believe 4k is only through hdmi, and no hopper 1 or 2 or superjoey on an account with a hopper 3.

They also have previously stated that only the HDMI output is active when the output is set to 4K. Thus component will not work when output is set to 4K. For the other resolutions all the outputs are active.

Is this something that might change in the future, or will all analog outputs always and forever be dead when watching a 4k channel?
