I hope one of the more experienced pub members will see this post and jump here. dsclark, I'm not sure where your getting your information from, but unfortunately what you want is not the way it works. Not for Dish, direct, Cox, Brighthouse, or any other cable company I can think of. What you...
I don't understand why we should have to pay an additional price for our HD channels when we're already paying for they're SD channel. I know it has to do with new technology and equipment and other things.
What I'd prefer to see is a an exact replica of current packages in HD format.
For...
WOW, Almost everyone one of you who have posted a response to GoalieBob's thread have been somewhat vicious.
All he was asking for was what he needed to do to get Dish to change his billing date, not advice on his budgeting or anything else. Yet, pretty much that's all he's gotten from...
I just got uverse installed earlier today and wanted to let you guys know how it went.
My installer was from Topeka, Ks (about 2hrs from where I live).
He called about 20min before he was scheduled to arrive to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived and came upstairs all he had was his...
we know that both services have duplicate channels but the have different shows on these channels. Even though the removal of duplicate channels makes sense the removal the disappearance of these shows do not. Sure the shows would have new time slots on the new channels but just cause we have to...
Yes, Colours is a Public Interest Channel and this one of the reasons that they are not automatically included in the "Family Pack". You or someone in your household must have been subscribing to an at pack or requested the PICs at the time the family pack was turned on.
And to: truckracer...
The chats are done live to allow us the customers the ability to ask questions to the ceo, those that are lucky to get passed the screeners. However though, I do agree that the customer service reps should be watching as well.
I don't own an hdtv atm, but I guess I should express my personal view upon this since I'll eventually have an hdtv.
1280x1080i or no i = it doesn't really matter to me. If you going to down convert the signal that much then you should just thow the channel into at180 and be done with it. It...
Do some research around here on the site. You'll find out that the 6000 is not mpeg4 capable. It requires a different chip to what's currently in your box.
Also the call centers and supervisiors don't always know what's going on, they're the ones to ALWAYS receive the information LAST.
Sorry...
very much so, haha
I wonder if the "new channels" were replacing channels like, divine, haha, guytv, labs and etc...
Oh well who knows. Hopefully DirecTV/Verizion/ATT will pick up the voom21 before to long.
Thanks for your help,
Danielle
I'm curious as to what channel of the voom 21 that game play is replacing. Voom.com only shows what channels that dish has and the rainbow media site doesn't really talk about the channels.
Thanks,
Danielle
Actually I think someone said above that KungFu and FilmFest will be merged into one channel. Just like a couple of channels that we have today are merged. For example Rush has content from WorldSport, just like the guy tv has content from comedy the channel I believe. So when they add the...
unless your locals are being broadcasted on the 110 or 119 then yes you will need a second dish if you sub to both locals and HD programing if they put the HD on the 129
mpeg4 is a compression utility. If you spend some time on the forum you'll hear a term called mpeg2. This again is another compression utility that currently dish and directv both use. The major difference between the 2 is that mpeg4 can compress more without video/audio loss. So for example...
Couldn't JimMcC just run a wire down to the tv where he'll have his 301 and input it as an antenna to the tv or whatever and then use a uhf remote while downstairs to control his 811 upstairs. That should work, right?
I wish that would've worked for me. I've got 2 receivers and when I reactivated one that hadn't been in the stream for well over 6months I couldn't watch anything.
Dish does have a converter switch that you can use if your receiver and lnbs don't match up.
But I would have to say that it's probably cheaper to just replace your lnbs and it's not that hard.
as far as we know dish has no plans to put any HD programing on the 105. There are RUMORS that dish may put HD programing on the 129 slot. As of today it has been verified that the VOOMHD programing has been uplinked to the 129 but is not yet available to customers. Today, the only way to get...
does anyone agree with me that dish should've removed the upper have circle/orb thingy when they removed the bottom part?
Leaving it there makes the logo look a little stupid.
