    INSTALLATION...again and again....

Make sure you lnb settings are correct. I'm sure Iceburg has advised you accordingly. As for the finding of sats. Pick something with a strong signal in your neck of the woods. Don't pick any weak ones. AMC 6, SBS 6, should be pretty strong where you are, and make sure you pick an active...

check out lyngsat and see if the sat footprint hits you. any of them that state "conus", stands for continental US. Go from there. Others might be in your neck of the woods (orbit that is) like the spanish and far south america sats, but their beem is not focued on the Northern Hemisphere, so...

    HH120 Excessive Play

it shouldn't have any play at all. my sg2100 has none. The only thing that moves in the wind is the mast a bit and the dish. I don't have an HH, so I wouldn't know if these should have play.

    Time again - Weekend Projects?

I've been so un FTA lately it isn't funny. wish I had time for it. Between building another house with just me and my wife, kids, and family vacations......no time. I found an old starchoice, I think its a 36" x 32" dish, during some work I did out at a local lake. The folks who owned it...

    Elevation and Latitude?

If I recall there is a chart in the back of the sg2100 motor manual, and it tells you what angles you should be at according to your lat/long of the dish setup. You use these to set the angle of your motor. Then if all goes well there, you set the angle of the dish as you normally would if it...

    rants and raves

The post was not meant to be malicious or condescending. I truly appologize if it came out that way. I am also not jealous of the fact that Ice jumps to the pump everytime, I hopefully have contributed and helped someone out as well in the spirit of good ethics. I am of clear mind now and can...

    Leaky DiSEqC Switch?

as for the switch. after I cooked one a year ago, the new one I bought got a healthy shot of clear silicon around the back side to hopefully avoid a water leak. Nasa is the only one FTA along with a few dish banners on 119. Kind of a useless sat for us FTA'rs, with the exception of finding a...

    Re-flash a dead box

I thought I would share an experience with all of you who have possibly purchased a box for dirt cheap like I did. I purchased a used fortec approx 3 months ago (44$), but never had time to fire it up until about 2 weeks ago. To my dismay, the box was dead on arrival (Fortec Lifetime Ultra)...

Which motor for the Winegard 1m dish?

No momentum at all, these motors have a worm gear type configuration, it is a slow controlled process to move the dish. As for weight, I remember a previous post awhile back where someone said they could move a 1.2m wineguard with an sg2100. I disagreed then, and do now. I think the weight...

Can I squeeze more rotation out of my Stab HH100?

You can open a SG2100 up and move the limit "blocks" in it. It is suppose to give you an extra 5 degrees either way. as for the stab....don't have nor tried those before.

11720V dead on G10R, or did I break something?

Well all I can say is if I don't have my dish positioned precisely, I can't get 11720 up here in Canada. I haven't made a trip on the roof all winter, so maybe its out a bit. I also fabricated a multi lnb holder last fall and maybe haven't worked the bugs out. 11720 has always been an issue...

As long as they haven't fried allready. Any electronics can be thouroughly dried and still work. A question of skew?

In my experience as stated in here before, skew is a wierd animal. depending on you setup i.e., mast being perfectly plumb, dish angle, weather etc... these are things all us FTA animals always constantly adjust. Believe me when I say that you will burn a distinct path into your roof shingles...
