Don't know why there's two threads... Anyway, I plugged it directly into the wall and it seems to work. Thanks for the tip!

    722K shuts itself down

I recently subscribed to Dish. I have an HD ViP 722K receiver with a Samsung PN50A550 plasma HDTV. The TV is connected directly to the receiver with HDMI cable. I currently only have one TV connected. Whenever I turn off the TV, the 722K turns off after 5 minutes. It will turn off even if it...

    insulating RG6 from power wire

Thanks for your response. My house is multi-story, but the issue is only in the basement. I finished my basement and wired it all three years ago. I thought that I had planned for every eventuallity, but as per Murphy'sLaw, we want to move the TV to a place where there are no Satellite...

    insulating RG6 from power wire

I am having to retrofit my basement with some additional coaxial cable. The only place i can run the RG6 is through the same ceiling stud cavity as the 110v power wires. I am afraid that this may cause interference in the RG6 (or the Cat5 that's going with it). Is there any way to insulate...

    PVR repair

Kryspy, THanks for the post. I tried the "HDD Short diagnostic" It ran for about 1 minute and then displayed "HR_READ_ERROR". I guess I need a new drive. The problem now is the two red record lights flash simulltaneously and the unit is completely jammed. It won't respond to anything, and...

    PVR repair

I have a BEV 5200 (dual tuner PVR). The PVR is acting up with some problems: - live TV seems to work fine, but you can't pause or back-up the show - the recordings are very choppy and don't record the whole show Current software version is 131. I believe that there is a problem with the...

RG6 installed next to electric wire?

I have re-run some RG6 in the basement that I am finishing. Now the Satellite won't work! I am using RG6 quad shield, with three cables running together. The only thing I can think of is that the RG6 was run next to several electrical wires (14 gauge - 110 volts). Can this create interference?

    How's it work: satellite,transponder,switch ?!?

Derwin, I am using a dual LNB, so I guess that may explain it. But it seems to me I previously had both satellites with my dual, although I can't say for sure. Also, won't I be missing channels if I only get one satellite? Which satellite would be better: 91 or 82? hab

    How's it work: satellite,transponder,switch ?!?

I have had satellite TV for two years but never really paid attention to how it really worked. I installed the dish, pointed it in the right general direction and all was well. I recently moved and am now trying to re-install my system, but I am having trouble locking in. I am hoping that...

    "Check Switch" problem

Thanks guys. I've never had a problem finding the satellite, but now I am. My understanding is that without the "switches" being active (i.e. no "X"), the signal bar doesn't work, which makes it even more difficult. Any suggestions?

    "Check Switch" problem

I recently moved and hve re-installed my dish, which has a twin LNBF. I only use one receiver. I can't seem to lock onto the signal. I believe the problem is the "switch": on the menu both switch 1 & 2 are marked with an "X". I have switch the cable between the two outputs on the LNBF but...
