ViP622 L4.01 Update on Thursday (Again)

For the Satelliteguys that joined the party here, the beta script mentions ordering PPV and VOD content. I would ignore those line items unless you were planning on ordering the content anyway because you will be charged for them. Also, I posted this over on DBSTalk earlier today - you'll be...

ViP622 L4.01 Update on Thursday (Again)

Make that 6:00am EDT tomorrow if you want in on this. I'm turning in the list of names at 8:00am MDT tomorrow. And, if you don't have a DBSTalk username, your SatelliteGuys username will be fine. Heck, I'm even turning in Scott's name... :)

    Big Brother 6

I get down on my knees everyday and thank God above that Scott has done everything for me. Without Scott, I am nothing. Without Scott, I have nothing. I bow my head to the almighty, holy, Church of Scott. Praise be His name above all others...praise be the Name of Scott forever and ever, Amen.

What a freaking difference a DVR with VOOM channels Make

Sean - it's a known bug (about halfway down my list of known bugs over at DBSTalk). The bug has to do with PIP and swapping between the tuners. DD5.1 works on MAIN, but doesn't work when you swap. I'm hoping that it'll get fixed soon, although it's not the most annoying bug being worked on at...

LOCALS on 148, repoint to 61.5

No, they'll have to turn CBS-HD East on for you specifically if you don't have it turned on now. It won't just show up.

So What was your First V*10 program?... or Channel?

Well, my first timer that I have set is for Futureworld on MonstersHD on Saturday morning, followed by Class of 1999 on Saturday afternoon, and Bubba Ho Tep and The Evil Dead on Sunday night.

    61.5 Transponder 1

I'm having no problems with my 921 receiving the TR1 channels. bytre - can you not set the 921 point dish screen to TR1 on your 921? That may be an addition to the beta that I'm running.

So What was your First V*10 program?... or Channel?

Yeah, my first channel early this morning was also Rave. I then flipped through, watched HDNews for a few minutes, and then went back to Rave. Good stuff...

Post your VOOM Activation Stories here

I received an email last night about 10:30 MDT from a CSR friend of mine saying that the channels had been added to my account so that I wouldn't have to deal with the calling in today. :) And sure enough, right at 2:00am MDT this morning, the channels appeared! :D

I believe the 422 is also a DVR receiver.

    942 L2.24 Release Notes

Good deal...I was just heading over to post these. I'm pretty happy with the notes this time around for this release. :) I guess that having "my head up Dish Network's ass" has advantages for the users...

    The 942 is HERE!

If you're running in Dual User mode, you don't have access to the OTA channels from TV2. You can only access them in Single User mode. Or, you can start a recording from TV1, and then start watching the DVR event on TV2. That's a way around it. Not a bug...a business decision to get you...

    Rumors from Team Summit

The 411 will replace the 811, not the 311. It's the MPEG4 non-DVR HD receiver. I'd tell you which division has been responsible for it, but I won't... What's cool about the Dish1000's (now that you guys have actually seen a picture, I can actually say something about it) is that it's...

    The 942 is HERE!

Walter, I think that you actually have CC turned on. The toggle switch is confusing - if the button says "Off", that means that CC is activated, and you need to select that option to turn it off. If it says "On", that means that it's currently off, and you need to select that button to turn it...

    522 L2.36 Release Notes

I received the release notes for L2.36 this morning, and am posting them here as a service to 522 users while we're making our server move at DBSTalk. :) L2.36 adds enhancements for audio/video sync performance (from Mark - I have no idea if this means they fixed it or not...) L2.36 adds...

    The 942 is HERE!

Actually, it doesn't have to be in standby mode, but there can't be any timers recording when the update time hits. I'd recommend putting it into standby mode, though, for the guide updates when you have them scheduled.

    The 942 is HERE!

The 942 needs to be off to receive updates. All outputs are active all the time. You can only output another channel in dual user mode. In single user mode, all outputs send out the same program.

    The 942 is HERE!

I was very surprised by it myself, but the results are clear on my television set to my eyes - the composite output from my 942 TV2 looks better than the svideo output from my 921 and from my 508s. That's exactly what I'm saying.

    942 OTA question

The 942 won't let you catch completely up with live. You'll always be delayed a little bit behind, but at least it doesn't crash when you're close to catching up. :)
  23. M

    The 942 is HERE!

Try the composite outputs - to me, they look far better than the svideo outputs of my 921 or 508s. Regarding the CC confusion that the toggle setting is causing, the next version of the software will give you a screen to specifically turn on or off the CC.

    Dish UHF remote replacement

I don't believe that any of the universal UHF-capable remotes are compatible with the Dish UHF Pro signals, so you wouldn't be able to use them to control TV2. TV1, sure, but not TV2.

is anyone else having spotbeam problems?

We're getting reports this morning about locals being out in several places throughout the country. No word yet on what the problem is.
