Advice on extending my C dish pole

Thank you all for the feedback. I’ve realized that’s not an easy task. From what’s suggested so far, I take it that welding a pipe extension of 4.5” O.D. is the best option. Nevertheless, I do have another option (may be easier option) and that’s to raise the legs of the tripod up by placing...

Advice on extending my C dish pole

Sergei, right now I'm barely getting 103W over the edge of my roof (I'm only getting the strongest TPs, i.e., Ion). With 2 to 3inch snow accumulation, I loose signal completely. ACRadio, I have no means of welding the pipes together (I don't have the tools). Thanks.

Advice on extending my C dish pole

I have an 8 ft Unimesh mounted on a tripod of a 4.5" O.D. pipe. The total height from the ground is approximately 5 ft (may be 6 feet, I haven't measured yet). I like to extend the pole height by 2 to 3 feet using a pipe extension of the same O.D. as the existing one. The chalenge is in keeping...

What USB HDD works with S10 What FW works w/HDD

Radio, you've mentioned in post #2 above that you have the openbox s10 with VERSION CHS2-11-10-10. Is this FW file name? I do have the same version in my openbox s10 (chipset 1015), but I noticed when I turn the unit off with the remote control, I get a blank LCD at the front, no stanby light...

What's a reasonable price tag for an openbox S10?

I checked and the Openbox S10 I've got is legit (e.g., original). I guess I got lucky this time. I hooked it up and it's working great (it helps to have almost perfect dish alignment and orthomode lnbf for those s2 signals). I do noticed few issues, such as no stanby light when turned off with...

    87W RTV Stations

I have no problem at all with both RTV TPs with my 8 ft Unimesh and dual orthomode LNBF. My problem though is with the outdated information listed in lyngsat about these muxes. I do frequently rely on lyngsat to updated TPs, and according to lyngsat these muxes still include Network affiliates...

What's a reasonable price tag for an openbox S10?

Is a price tag of $78 (canadian) a reasonable price for a new openbox S10? Recently I won an ebay bid for the above from a canadian seller (the buy it now price was $99). Shipping is free in Canada. When I looked through out the web for S10, I couldn't see a price lower that $100, when...

Adding a small dish ku LNB to a C dish

I’d like to know whether it is relevant to place an offset ku LNB at the east side of the main LNBF of a C dish to catch the western satellites, and vice versa for the eastern satellites. My C dish is motorized and can move from 103 W to 27.5 W. I recently added a ku LNB (placed east of the main...

Do I really need a DVB-S2 receiver at this time?

recently I've been entertaining the idea of acquiring a DVB-S2 receiver to be able to get additional channels. However, after I looked at the channel lineup that use DVB-S2 format I realized that I get may be 99% of them in DVB-S. Most of the interesting DVB-S2 muxs composed of channels of the...

V-Box x SG2100 motor for Ku dish and actuator for C-dish

It seems this is the problem I have now, but with the C-dish moving when the ku-dish is intended. Could you please explain more about "program your vbox using diseqc 1.2 positions beginning around 30". The other thing that I find annoying is when I need, let say, fine east/west adjustment for...

V-Box x SG2100 motor for Ku dish and actuator for C-dish

Can anybody suggest best setup to connect my one receiver to both my ku dish with a motor and my c-dish with an actuator, using the newly acquired V-BOX x. Currently, I'm using a diseq 4x1 switch for both c-dish (with orthomode LNBF V and H) and ku motorized dish. Am I going to loose my ku...

    LeoMall.com And Vbox X problem?

I just placed an order of a V-Box X from the only supplier that carry them here in Canada. I wish I went with a V-BOX 7 (made by a different manufacturer) or a V-box II (made by Motek).

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

Vbox 7 is not old technology. It is equivalent to Vbox X, but I understand that it is made by a different manufacturer (Vbox 7 and Vbox x are not the same boxes made by the same manufacturer).

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

In Canada will cost me less to buy a Vbox 7 from a local seller (I do not have to pay shipping of US$28 and Custom duties and taxes)

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

I would love to support a SatelliteGuys forum Gold Sponsor, but I'm Canadian and even at the $25 price I will end up paying more when including shipping ($28) and Custom duties and Taxes.

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

I asked for help with V-box X versus V-box 7, and it seems no one has experience with both to provide a one to one comparison. It seems that the Vbox 7 is between $10 to $15 dollar cheeper on the average, and so I'll buy the 7. Any last comments on Vbox 7?

36-volt VBOX for a 12-volt rated actuator motor?

Thank you guys for your feedback. I'm going ahead with the purchase of the VBOX-x. I was quoted US $73.00 including delivery and taxes, does this sound reasonable?

36-volt VBOX for a 12-volt rated actuator motor?

I cannot confirm the 12 volt rating, 'cause can no longer read the label on the side of the motor. Nevertheless, I'm running the actuator (moving the 8' dish) with a 12-volt battery charger easily and fast enough. Also, the actuator motor size is quite small compared to the 24 volt von weise...

36-volt VBOX for a 12-volt rated actuator motor?

I need your help for two things. First, I will be buying a V-Box for my old (refurbished) 12 volt actuator. From the specs of the V-box, it outputs 36 volts, can my 12 volt rated actuator motor handle that? Second, I'm having trouble getting my sonicview 800hd to accept manually entering the...

    VBOX-X versus VBOX 7

I started this thread with a specific question about the V-Box x versus V-Box 7, as I noticed they're different models made by different manufactures. The thread was taken to a different direction, and ended up discussing something entirely irrelevant to this thread. Could we please go back to...

    English programming question

I just finished the setup of my 8-ft dish, and I'd like to know if there are any useful English channels beyond 58 W (toward east) and 107 W (toward west). After looking at Lyngsat and doing some scanning to test my setup, I realized it would be beneficial to set east/west limits to reduce...
