i have a few servo motors here that were given to me new and unused...but none of them had the round black plastic piece with them....does a new servo motor include that piece? the reason i want to make sure it comes with it is because i have 4 new servo motors already and even though i don't...

think i found my problem...i started hearing some weird wining noises coming from the area of the servo motor so i took it back off to check it and found that the small black plastic insert between the actual servo motor and the round plastic piece holding the feedhorn antenna was broken in 2...

by sub channels i mean the channels that show just a black screen with a signal level and after a few seconds show a message telling you to call your subscriber to subscribe. i haven't subscribed yet because i want to make sure my dish is aligned correctly 1st... there are alot of them that...

i've got my dish set back up and tracking the arc again...but now i have a weird transponder thing happening.... i can get bot odd and even transponders on the free feeds....but on the sub channels i can only get the odd transponders...the even transponder sub channels i was able to get...

they didn't own the truck...but it belonged to a friend of theirs who was not there....in fact...that is probably going to be another charge on them cause they did not have permission to have the truck at all....after speaking with my insurance agent they said that the insurance for the truck...

pole has been concreted in the ground since 4-27-05 and i got my new actuator arm installed and the system has been in operation since 5-12-05. at this time it tracks the arc with up to 90+ signal on most of the sats....so i think i have the pole setup good...thx for the suggestions... :)

i had not been happy with the signal level i have gotten since i got the dish tracking properly so today i tried something i read somewhere (not sure if it was here or somewhere else). i now have been able to get 90+ on signal strength on all but a couple of sats(and that's with a small tear i...

as for the actuator arm i have to wait alittle while until i get a few extra bucks to buy one that will reach farther....all i had was the $40 i spent on the new 18 inch one...i'll get a 24 inch one when i can...just glad to have it moving correctly for now.... :)

i'm up to 18 sats ranging from amc3 at 87W to amc7 at 137W with my hts tracker system v and am playing with the pansat 2500a now and am hitting alot of sats with it also....so i guess i have it basically tracking the arc correctly.... :)

got it... :) 1. had a bad polarity servo....replaced it with a brand new one someone had given me for parts. 2. the bracket holding the feed horn was loose on 2 bolts...corrected that when replacing the servo. now i have sats i never knew existed popping up and with alittle more...

i've got the new 18" actuator installed and all hooked up. tried to get the 10' dish aimed for a few hours and finally got a picture. after tweaking the settings alittle i can now hit at least 9 satellites that i know of by moving the dish. the problem now is that i can onlt id 1 of the sats...

just got in my new actuator and since i'm new to all this i was wondering if someone might be able to help me with a wiring question. there was no actuator on the dish already when i got it home (had already been removed) so the wires were already disconnected. the actuator is a superjack II+...

got what i think was a deal on a brand new actuator on an online auction...it's only a 18" actuator but hopefully that will be enough for me to at least get it up and running until i can get ahold of a 24" one.... it was a superjack and i got it for 39 dollars (including shipping)...

now i know why i got some of the extra stuff for free.... :) i had 3 actuators total (the 1 that came with the dish and the 2 i got from another person) and so far from what it looks like 3 out of 3 are bad..... they all had some rust on the outside and i thought at least 1 would be good...

i finally found a place that has it in my area....it is 85 cents per foot. i know i could get it cheaper online but i have dealt with these people before with other things(years ago...thought they had closed but they changed their name and moved) and they have always been great to deal with...

if i do not have a nearby satellite shop that sells the satellite type cables to connect my 10' dish to my c-band receiver do i have any other options as far as a "setup" to use i can create myself? i will order something online if i have to but really wanted to get everything up and running...

now i have someone else giving me a panasonic receiver (not sure which model) with the board also...looks like i'm getting a pretty large collection of receivers to play with...now i've gotta go pick up all of them.... :)

i just spoke to my friend about the receivers and he said i could have both of them for free... :) they are both houston tracker receivers (not sure which models..all he told me on the phone was that one was a few years older then the other) and that both had the vcII+ boards....so i guess...

there is an "empty" space you can view through the back of the receiver. Is that where a decoder module should be if one was there? not really sure about the details of the feedhorn...havent had a chance to look and it is dark now...i will try to get more information about it tomorrow. i...
