11720V dead on G10R, or did I break something?

Yesterday I added a DMSI 4-way DiSEqC switch and an 18" dish to my setup (trying to get the music on 119W). I think I've got it all set up correctly, G10R still mostly works on my fixed dish with an Invacom universal LNB, but I'm getting no signal from 11720V (where I used to get around 60-65%...

    Coolsat 5000 clock resetting

I don't use my Coolsat 5000 very frequently right now, but I've noticed that sometimes the clock will reset back to its default time of midnight, some day/month in 2004. I'm not power-cycling it, and we haven't had any power outages. Is there an internal battery that keeps the clock going that...

    Data services?

What data is there coming down off of satellites? I know of NOAAPort on AMC4, is there anything else? News reports in text? I'm looking for more things to play with that would justify the purchase of a TwinHan 102G :)

    KEXP on G10R?

I've got a Coolsat 5000 on G10R. I can get UWTV and The Research Channel, but what I'm assuming is supposed to be KEXP (UWash radio station) is just a blank screen with no audio. Is it just my receiver, or is there just an empty carrier there?

    w00t! Success!

Hot diggity! Got my Coolsat 5000 and Invacom single universal LNB on Thursday, hooked everything together today (have a ChannelMaster 76cm fiberglass dish on a non-penetrating mount) and am currently performing a detailed blind scan of Galaxy 10R :) I think I'll have to upgrade to an 80cm or...

    Installing a BUD tomorrow

Tomorrow I'm putting up a 10' SAMI dish. Whee! I know my magnetic declination, I know my latitude and apex elevation, I've got a protractor and a decent compass, and I'll be picking up some ribbon cable tomorrow. Using a V-Box and a Pansat 3500, the dish will have DMSI C and Ku LNBs on it...

ChannelMaster fiberglass dish with no bracket

I've come across a fiberglass Channelmaster dish, it's got the mounting arms for the LNB, but no bracket on the back. Where might I find an appropriate bracket for use with a H-H motor?

    Subscription services for DVB-S receivers?

It seems that most FTA receivers have a Conax smartcard reader built-in, and some even have PCMCIA slots for CI modules. What subscription services are out there for these receivers? Just wondering if there's any nifty premium content up there that we can access with existing hardware.

Here's what I've got, what can I do? (newbie looking for options)

I have a Paraclipse 12' dish with an unknown brand 36v actuator and C and Ku band LNBs on a corotor feedhorn. My dilemma... There are few receivers with control output for the corotor servo. There are even fewer with control output for the 36v actuator. My options, as I see them... 1)...

Skew servo on BUD for FTA (newbie alert)

I've noticed that the feedhorns for all BUDs have a servo for adjusting skew, but the only FTA receivers I've seen that make use of it are the Pansat receivers. None of the smaller dishes have any kind of receiver-controlled skew adjustment. Is skew adjustment necessary on BUDs for FTA channels?

    New (to me) BUD

Greetings! This weekend I'll be disassembling a 12' Paraclipse mesh dish, doing a bit of reconditioning work on it, and then installing it for my parents. The mesh is attached to the frame of the dish with wire clips that are just bent around all the ribs...if those turn out to be a pain, I'll...
