I am trying to signup my mother for dish and I am looking for a good deal. Seems dishnetwork.com has little to offer. Are there any other trusted places to get a dish? I found satellitesales.com and they have a good deal but I never heard of them. Thanks.

Will an 811 still sell on ebay? Also would that be ethical knowing that they are no longer activating the 811? (yeah I have a conscience)

So I own my 811. Is this post saying that for 299 they will upgrade me to a 622? The 811 will not even function at all very soon, correct?

I have adelphia and the cheapest I can get the HD for is over $30. I have to have basic($18) and then HD($10) and then a set top box that is required($8) + fees and tax.

Yeah I called that is the rundown they gave me. As for antenna, no can do, the most I could pick up is the local PBS affiliate.

I was unsuccessful. I turned it very slow and picked up nothing...this is no easy task.

So I should not have to adjust the evelation or skew? Just spin it to the right? Which is 110 and which is 119? I have the dishpro plus 500. Just wrap foil around the 110? About how far to the right do you turn it?

That #@!$ 811 what a POS. I tried moving my sat around it wouldnt refresh and would keep saying no signal but I went and used my 322 instead very responsive. So I got my sat back to 110/119 but was never successful pointing it to the 129. any tips?

I wanted to check to see if I can pick up Voom on 129. I want to turn my 110/119 dishpro plus 500 dish to 129. How do I do that? Do I adjust the skew or evelation or just spin it around the pole toward 129? What is the best way to do this? Do I use the point dish app in the receiver? Also...

Well then how bout ABC HD will dish be carrying that then? I also cannot receive any DTV broadcast except PBS :(

The fellow at radioshack confirmed what I had feared...I could only pickup PBS unless I have a large high external antenna. considering the mountainous area in which I live I am not suprised. If I could just get out of my contract I could go with Adelphia...they carry the local HD channels.

No I paid the 49.99 activation fee...which was refunded on the 1st bill. And my contract is only 12 months. I assume the equipment is not mine. I was just trying to find a way to get out of my contract. I figured if the equipment was mine I could cancel and sell the equipment and use that...

Where do I find info regarding my contract? I looked at my online account info and I saw nothing.
