    Repairing a dish

LikVid: I doubt I'll ever be able to afford any of the Seavey products. They are just too expensive. Since I can't really use the dish, I'll probably have to get rid of it. :(

    Repairing a dish

LikVid: Please send me the pdf form of the manual! That would be a life saver! Is there any way to get this dish up and running without that special kind of feed horn? Like something I could rig up?

    Repairing a dish

WyrTwister: No, it did not work. There was no way I could get the signal into the mouth of the LNB. If anyone has any luck doing that though, I'd be more than happy to give it another shot.

    Repairing a dish

Greg: Click the links named "Pic1. Pic2. Pic3." on http://aristotle73.250free.com Ignore the attempt to use a tiny Ku LNBF on the dish. That was a stupid move on my part when I was a total newbie.

    Repairing a dish

Greg: It's a six foot winegard dish. It's pretty old. I doubt I could find another dish around here considering that the one I have was hard enough to find.

    Repairing a dish

One corner of my dish is a little bent from being knocked over by the win a while back :/ How should I bend it back? It was recommended by another member that I place a towel over the area and then bend it back with plyers so as not to scratch the reflective coating. Would doing this be okay?

    LNBF install help

Is there any type of test I can perform to make sure that the feedhorn is the proper distance from the face of the dish on the LNB?

    LNBF install help

I just received my new C-Band LNBF in the mail today. When I took it out of the package, I realized I wasn't sure how to put it together. I have the "Orion C-Band CLNBF1LP" LNBF. It came with a feedhorn and the LNB. However, there are notches on the LNB that say "34, 36, 38, 40, 42". What...

    LNB question

What's the difference between a C-Band LNBF and an LNB that uses an external Feedhorn? Are the offsets the same or different? Do they require a polar motor?

    Setup possibly wrong?

Does anyone know what the focal distance would be for a dish that has a diameter of six feet? I tried doing the calculations myself and it came out to something like four feet--which doesn't seem right. Anyone have any ideas?

    Setup possibly wrong?

Actually, I didn't take any measurements...I didn't know that mattered. I'm guessing the LNBf needs to be moved closer to the dish? The scalar ring that was originally on there is actually broken. There were also no salvagable parts from the original LNB. I checked hoping I could use...

From the pictures, does it look like my focal length is possibly wrong?

    PC card question

If you are talking about the KWorld DVB-S 100, then I suggest you use ProgDVB because it is possibly one of the only few applications that really work well with this card. You also must meet the minimum system requirements for this card. The KWorld DVB-S 100 does not have any onboard MPEG2...

    Setup possibly wrong?

I'm stumped :( I've pointed my dish everywhere and it seems like I can't get a lock at all. I'm using a 1.4 meter dish with the XtremeII LNBf. Because the dish is an old Wineguard, the arm comes out from the center (my dish's arm is the same as gizzer777's). The LNBf is installed kind of...

    Skew

I had to run outside and turn my LNBf the other way because it is weird -_- Maybe I'll have better luck with it now.

    Skew

Katrinasucks: I have the same LNBf you do. Could you please clarify whether the LNBf was just more forgiving or if it was just because of your location relative the sat?

How much does an incorrect skew setting affect the ability to obtain a lock from a sat?

    What is Magnetic Declination?

So if a sat is 97*W, which comes to about 210* Azimuth for me, would that mean that the sat is located on my compass at 221*?

    What is Magnetic Declination?

What is magnetic declination? SatFinder says I have a magnetic declination of approximately -11*. What does this mean?

    Fixing coax

I have an Acoustic Research 50ft. F-connector coax cable hooked up to my dish--or I did. The wind got pretty bad Saturday and blew the dish over onto its side causing the coax to become stripped from the LNB coax connector (even though the dish was weighted with cement blocks ). So now I...

    LNB Information

My friend has an old Sharp LNB that is meant for use by DirecTV dishes in Latin America (lnbshp02 BS1H2SP207M). Does anyone have any information regarding the specs of this LNB (circular or linear, L.O., etc..)? I saw that someone here has the same LNB and posted a picture of it in an earlier...

I don't think I am doing something correctly. The SF-95 hit 100% and I couldn't shut it up no matter how much I turned the gain knob.

ken2400: Thx :D Will do! PSB: GOL TV? Edit: Just wanted to ask what I should use to wipe off the dirt from my dish? It needs a little cleaning.
