What about ditching the HDMI out and going with component and optical audio? Is there still an issue then? Getting ready to upgrade from 922. This may be a deal killer for me as my receiver does not pull audio from HDMI, it only passes picture.

I just bought a WD My Passport Essential. I have formatted it 3 times since connecting it to my receiver, but my 622 keeps telling me the drive needs to be formatted. Is this because the drive is only powered via USB? If I connect it to a hub will it solve the issue? Guess I might be out $70...

On my 622 my TV is hooked up with HDMI but I can hook up a 2nd display via Component or A/V connections on the TV1 output and mirror simultaneously. Is this the case on the 922? This is the make or break for me on the 922.

Sorry what I meant was if I have to drop HD Absolute and add an Americas Top plus HD pacakge then I might as well switch. I know CI is the same price no matter what provider. Direct may have those additional RSN's in HD, but are they going to turn them on regularly for CI? Comparing last...

Can I get CI with an HD only package? If so, which one? I'm grandfathered in right now on the old HD Absolute. If it costs me an arm and a leg to add CI then I may switch to Direct. However, I would certainly miss my Avs pre and post game shows.

Good luck trying to get a game on 9468 to record properly though. Of course I guess the Masters is over now, so it shouldn't be an issue. But yes it was nice to have the live HD hockey instead of pre-recorded HD interviews and highlights.

What about those of use that have packages like NHL CI? I wonder how that will work. Will I still get the SD games when HD is not available? Also, would I get the games on my local RSN if I don't have access to it with the HD only package? (They currently get blacked out on the CI channels.)

it's the beginning of the season and these things don't get updated that far in advance. i remember last year that you could only count on the guide being accurate the day before, or the day of. and the online schedule was usually never updated very far in advance.
