If ATT drops dish from their bundle service we will just move it directly through dish. Then we would qualify for the cinemax deal.

The 622 should have plenty of room to download an HD movie from on demand, the extra GBs on the 722 would just let you download more.

We love the Voom movie channels. If they go there is nothing similar to take their place. If this keeps up we will just downgrade to the HD only pack for the remainder of our contract.

I don't see it happening anytime soon. The Daily Show and Colbert Report don't even have an HD system setup and most other shows aren't filmed or made in HD. There just isn't any reason for them to make the switch.

I'm not sure anyone knows exactly what they are going to do but the rumor is that they are retooling the filmfest channel.

The new sat launches on Fri so wouldn't they wait for that to be up and running. They did say a bunch of HD channels would be added by summer so I wouldn't expect any till mid April at the earliest.

I think I am going to switch back to component cables for my 622. The signal quality will be the same for audio and video since I only need stereo audio going to my TV and it is only 720p. I have optical going to my audio receiver. It will let me use CC and frankly my TVs CC is way better...

I have the same problem. The receiver is hooked up to the tv with HDMI and the TV says that it can't do captions, I have to go through the receiver settings. I have a small workaround using my Harmony remote. I just set up a macro that presses all the buttons for me, but it still takes about...

I would say the six foot limit is a bit short, but it is probably for speed. Just know that the longer the cable the longer the time for the signal to get to the box. Also, for us, the B band seems a bit slower than the A band. Not by much but we could tell.

We had the same problem with our TV2 signal. All we did was change it to the B band under the battery cover and it worked great. B band allows for more distance but only works on the new receivers I think.

While the add doesn't mention HD for those channels it does put them in a group of other HD channels, even ones that don't say HD on the screen. I have to go with guilt by association. Putting them with all HD channels implies that they are HD as well. Maybe they will be among the new HD...

Dish does have something like that with their dish online service. They have a bunch of movies you can download online. It is all PPV right now though. I am hoping they add free movies and tv shows and HD content in the future.

I believe the setup program has you put in your area code and it tells you how to point the dish, but you would need a compass and protractor to make sense of the numbers they give you. It is just easier to get it in the general area and have someone watching the meter on the screen while you...

I agree with above. We have many timers set for most of the Voom channels. We love the music ones the best but we watch the kung-fu and monster ones a lot as well. It does suck when the movies repeat so much, but many times we have so many timers that it helps when we have conflicts to have...
