    Hopper/Joey vs. 2 Directv DVRs?

Are you saying that this retailer, a big box store like Best Buy or Frys I presume, was adding the additional $100 rebate? Or was the whole thing coming from Dish?

    Hopper/Joey vs. 2 Directv DVRs?

I have two DVRs without whole home function so I can pause live TV anywhere.

    Hopper/Joey vs. 2 Directv DVRs?

I have been with D* since 1996 but found that if I switch to Dish with the Hopper/Joey solution I can save $22/month for the same programming. I understand that the Hopper/Joey is faster in operation but it is difficult for a new user to get one's hands around the various functional differences...

    Hopper future feature 1080i - 720p Channel Switch ?

You might be right that the Hopper has improved the scaling over Dish's previous DVRs but I don't understand your last statement. How does Directv have higher resolution than Dish to begin with?

    Hopper future feature 1080i - 720p Channel Switch ?

The reason for using native pass through on Directv is that usually your display device does a better job of scaling the picture to your panel or projector's 1080P resolution. If the Hopper or the Directv DVR had better scaling electronics then native pass through wouldn't be necessary. Perhaps...

FSN Sports Package. How do I tell what teams are in my zone?

Thank you for the direction. I did that and it listed Fox Sports West and Fox Sports West2. Now, does this guarantee that I will see all professional sports teams offered in their coverage or could I be blacked out for the LA and Anaheim teams because our local channels are San Diego? Jack

FSN Sports Package. How do I tell what teams are in my zone?

I live in a remote area that is covered by both Los Angeles and San Diego. How do I know which teams are covered by FSN in my area and which I am eligible for. Is there a place on Dish's website where I put my zip code to tell? Jack

Thanks guys. I guess they are right. Jack

RG59 Cable and the 722. Dish says it will burn up!

The Dish tech showed up today with a 722 to install and said I could not use my RG59 house cabling for the connection. He said it would overheat and burn up the cable. Of course, I didn't believe him so we called Dish and talked to tech support. The tech said that the 722 antenna feed is 22 Mhz...

is there a list of local HD networks NOT on spotbeams?

When I enter my address in the link above I get the message back " This address is not in our system. Please correct and try again." Does this mean I am not in the spot beam area for LIL or just a problem with their locater? Jack

    722's on Back-order!

I am supposed to have two of them installed tomorrow morning. The Dish computer voice confirmed at 5:00 PM that they were still coming. They were due last week but were postponed to tomorrow because of supply issue. I have my fingers crossed.

    Contract or Not with E*?

Based on what you are saying, with all of the commotion going on with D* and their big plans it seems like a no-brainer to pay $49.99 for the flexibility to change vendors if E* doesn't work out. Jack

    Contract or Not with E*?

I just signed up for E*'s latest new customer deal for install on Friday. I've been with D* since the beginning, about 10-11 years now. When I asked the E* rep about not signing up for the 18 months the only sacrifice I could come up with after a long discussion with her was loss of my $49.99...

    Some HD RSN's Now LIVE!

Basically, I'm screwed. Either I get my RSN on the national shared HD channels but no local HD LILs or I get local HD LILs and have to get my teams through MLB, NBA, and CI packages. The latter is a very expensive proposal. My only hope is that D* offers the same national HD RSN concept as Dish...

    Some HD RSN's Now LIVE!

Per my discussion above....if I can live in a different region and get the RSN I want by telling Dish I live there, what about the LILs HD channels. Are these spot beamed? Jack

    Some HD RSN's Now LIVE!

I do have line of site and I do not care about the local teams. However, I do have to switch from D*.

    Some HD RSN's Now LIVE!

Are these RSNs spot beamed? I have moved from my old region but still follow my old teams. If they are not spot beamed then I can order a 622 delivered to my son's house in the old area and then install it in the new area. If I bill to my credit card they wouldn't know I didn't live in the old...

San Diego Fox. Where is it?

If that's the case and the FSN HD channels go live tonight on NHL Center Ice then I will convert to Dish from Direct.

San Diego Fox. Where is it?

Is 6410 an HD channel? I thought all of Dish's HD channels were in the 9400s. Jack

San Diego Fox. Where is it?

I was all set to switch to Dish but when I went to a friends house to watch the Dish NFL HD game between Carolina and New Orleans today we couldn't find XETV - HD. Is this part of the News Corp vs Dish crap that's going on or am I missing something. I thought XETV was independently owned and not...

Dish HD ... as applied to NHL games

I am interested in this answer also as I will switch from Direct TV if I can receive the San Jose Shark games, many of which are in HD, on Dish. From what I understand from previous chats here and on AVS, Dish will have multiple HD channels available for NHL Center Ice every night. However, I...
