Warmer Weather & Most Satellites Back, WHY?

A RADOME is a FIBERGLASS (usually) structure that cover dishes to prevent weather related problems at the receiving side of of a dish. It is tuned to allow the radio waves to pass thru it. They commonly use them on Airplanes, although they can also be used to disguise or hide a dish. BryanSR

Can somebody recommend a good outdoor diplexer?

I have found that if you pick up some Dielectric grease from an auto parts store and put a DAB in each coax connection prior to assembly. Your connections will not corrode and it will be MUCH easier to remove in the future. They do make a Teflon dielectric grease too but it costs more and a...

Do you leave your receiver on or off?

Receivers that stay powered on came from the early days of Cband. The LNA's were quite unstable and if you remove the power from the LNA it would take a minute for the picture to stabilize due to the drift. Todays LNB's are NOT as temperature and voltage sensitive as they were then.
