Why X-Men Will Make Major Franchise Changes After Apocalypse
Through X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, the mutants known as Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) have gone through a hell of a lot. Beginning in the early 1960s, they wound up right smack dab in the middle of not only a massive societal change, but also the Cuban Missile Crisis. Then, about a decade later, they found themselves fighting for the future and against a horrific apocalyptic nightmare, saving humanity from giant machines that would ultimately create nothing but death and destruction. Their road has been a long one, but, according to writer/producer Simon Kinberg, that arc may soon be coming to an end. While answering fan questions as part of a recent fan Q&A hosted by Yahoo! UK, the filmmaker revealed that X-Men: Apocalypse is being strongly viewed as an end to a trilogy that began with X-Men: First Class and continued this past summer with Days of Future Past. The aim seems to be to provide some kind of conclusion for Xavier, Magneto, Mystique and Beast, who have grown and changed (some more literally than others) a great deal over time. Said Kinberg,
"The thrust of Apocalypse is really to complete the trilogy we began with First Class – to complete the stories of young Raven, young Hank, younger Charles and Erik. And complete this trilogy of four people who began the films sort of disparate and in different worlds who we've followed through the span of decades. So that'll be the thrust. There will be familiar characters and new characters that we haven't seen…ever…but it'll be the completion of what we began in First Class." What makes this statement very odd is that fact that Professor X, Magneto, Mystique and Beast all play absolutely vital roles in the world of X-Men - so how could the franchise continue on without them? The simplest answer could be that future titles would center on the new younger versions of characters like Cyclops, Jean Gray and Storm, and follow their adventures, but how do you feature them and not feature Xavier and Beast as their teachers? Another possible solution is that 20th Century Fox may start looking at different teams that they have the rights to, like X-Force (which has already been developing) or Alpha Flight. Or maybe they'll just starting focusing more on solo titles, like the announced Deadpool and rumored Gambit. There are a number of interesting options, and it will be fascinating to see which directions they go in.
X-Men: Apocalypse, which is being directed by Bryan Singer and is being written by Kinberg, is scheduled to go into production next year and is currently dated on the release calendar for May 27, 2016. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-X-Men-Make-Major-Franchise-Changes-Apocalypse-67424.html It needs a franchise change!! imo :)

Hugh Jackman Reveals His Favourite Wolverine Scene http://news.yahoo.com/hugh-jackman-reveals-his-favourite-wolverine-scene-042442195.html
Having played Wolverine for seven films now you'd have thought that picking a favourite 'X-Men' scene as the beloved character would prove to be impossible. But that couldn't be further from the truth, because Hugh Jackman had no qualms admitting that his favourite scene as Wolverine came in 'X-Men: First Class', and it's easy to see why.Speaking to Digital Spy, Jackman admitted, "I think, ultimately, my favourite moment is the came in 'First Class'."And anyone who has seen 2011's 'X-Men: First Class' will immediately understand why Jackman has picked out his one moment in Matthew Vaughn's prequel. The scene in question sees Wolverine sat at a bar enjoying a tipple when Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) walk in and prepare to ask him to join their growing gaggle of mutants. However, before the pair can even get their words out to ask Wolverine, he immediately declines them by exclaiming, "Go f*** yourselves."It's quick, pithy and downright hilarious, and it's immediately understandable why the Australian actor picked it out as his favourite moment.

Rumour: Hugh Jackman On Board For X-Men: Apocalypse Reshoots http://news.yahoo.com/rumour-hugh-jackman-on-board-for-x-men-095513030.html
Hugh Jackman's days as Wolverine are numbered - so if makes sense that 20th Century Fox would want to make the most of him while they can.To date there has been no official confirmation that Jackman will appear in the upcoming 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' but word has now got out that the iconic actor will indeed reprise his signature role in the 2016 sequel.According to Le Journal de Montréal (via ComicBook.com), some reshoots are scheduled for the Bryan Singer-directed film in the Canadian city in the new year - and Jackman will allegedly be involved. Again, it should be stressed that 20th Century Fox have not officially confirmed that Jackman will appear in the film - and even if he does, it will almost certainly be in a far more limited capacity than his lead role in the previous X-Men movie 'Days of Future Past.'Following on the pattern from the 1962-set 'X-Men: First Class' and the 1973-set 'Days Of Future Past,' 'Apocalypse' takes place in the early 1980s.As well as seeing the return of James McAvoy's Xavier, Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Nicholas Hoult's Beast and Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, 'Apocalypse' will also reintroduce several key characters from the original X-Men movies as teenagers.

X-Men: Apocalypse May Focus A Lot On 2 Classic Mutants http://www.cinemablend.com/new/X-Men-Apocalypse-May-Focus-Lot-2-Classic-Mutants-91887.html
Among the many players that will be involved in X-Men: Apocalypse next year are Michael Fassbender's Magneto and Evan Peters' Quicksilver. The two were among the most popular characters in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, and although together their time was short, their interactions were memorable. However, when we follow up with them in the 2016 blockbuster, their journeys will be directly connected. When we meet up with these characters again in X-Men: Apocalypse, Evan Peters explained to Details that the silver-haired speedster will be looking for the Master of Magnetism. According to Peters:

Quicksilver's X-Men: Apocalypse Storyline Revealed http://screenrant.com/quicksilver-x-men-apocalypse-magneto-father/
If there was ever a lesson in not judging a book by its cover, then Evan Peters' portrayal of super-fast mutant Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past was it. When images first emerged showing Peters sporting grey hair, a silver jacket and a pair of goggles no one knew quite what to make of the character design, but after the movie's release the general consensus was that Quicksilver's slow-motion takedown of Pentagon guards was one of the best scenes in the movie, and that the worst thing about the character was his lack of screen time.Needless to say, many X-Men fans are eager to see Peters back, in what will hopefully be an expanded role, when X-Men: Apocalypse releases next year, with Bryan Singer once again returning as director. The sequel will see another jump forward in time, though whether Quicksilver will have matured at all remains to be seen. One thing we do know, however, is that he has found new purpose in life, and that purpose will bring him back into the X-Men fold.Speaking in an interview with Details, Peters said that Apocalypse will be "the biggest X-Men film" of all, since "it's about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge." He also explained just why Peter Maximoff decides to join the X-Men team.

X-Men's Wolverine: Why Tom Hardy Should Replace Hugh Jackman http://www.cheatsheet.com/entertain...ould-replace-hugh-jackman.html/?ref=YF&tpl=op
Arguably, the current age of superhero cinema owes a lot to the X-Men franchise. After all, that first film kickstarted the future of Marvel heroes on the big screen in 2000, paving the way for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to rule the box office nearly a decade later. However, Fox's X-Men films are gearing up to lose one of their core players in Hugh Jackman, who will appear in a third solo film as Wolverine before hanging up the claws for good. In an MTV interview, Jackman recently name-dropped Tom Hardy as a good choice to take over the role once he vacates it, and here are five reason why Hardy could be an inspired casting choice to breathe new life into the iconic Wolverine.

But.....if you like Tulsa King....looks like you would probably like this as well. I don't mind spin-offs as long as they don't involve a sassy niece who moves from the big city

I thought I would come here and find lots of complaints about the update to the dish anywhere mobile app, but am not seeing any. It used to look just like the desktop webpage. Now you can no longer filter by sports channels or movie channels. Plus that they made it look like a big button telephone and you see fewer channels in the screen which requires more scrolling. Yes I realize you can look at sports then select which sport you want to look at, I just liked being able to see all sporting events in the guide with all other channels being filtered out. Am I alone in the wilderness on this?

No. Bring in someone new.🤔 Tony is not serious enough for me. Parker is too close to the team and Tim is too young to take over IMO.

I don't think Tim and Tony are that far apart in Age ...

Remember what Tony said to Tim when they first got back together ...
Tony said: I am the New Tony, Tim .... (something to that effect)

Tony has changed, he's been running his Security Business ... I'm sure he has grown up.

Give it time ... your judging the New Tony from the old Tony.

It sounds like Tim won't be around the Team much longer either.

Might be worth a watch when it comes out. Looks like typical big corp against the little guy movie BUT....there is a reason this plot type is so oft repeated, it draws audiences.

If you're going try to read / listen to the book (can't recommend the audio book enough) before this comes out, I'd avoid trailers.

Trailer below, spoiling it to make sure you read the above bold message first. The book / audio book are fantastic. Go into this blind if you can IMO!

Kind of disappointed at how much they show. A lot still to see, but man, some good reveals in the book that are just served up here.

I agree. That can go for pretty much any book vs movie. Back when I was single I would read any Stephen King or John Grisham book I could get my hands on. When you read a book you make up the scenes and characters in your mind.....the movie version always disappoints.

A big win for the Patriots, and they are now 3-2.

Browns lose a close one with... The Jets. That is a classic Browns loss (granted, any loss is a classic one it seems). 49'ers, Vikings, and Chiefs remain undefeated. The AFC north have a three way tie at 3-2 for second place.

I had quit watching this show years ago because I ended up more annoyed than entertained. Well......I'm STILL more annoyed than entertained. I DO find it interesting to see how things work behind the scenes at many businesses. What annoys me is how utterly out of touch CEOs are with the companies they run. At the end of almost every episode the head of the company is amazed at how hard the employees have to work and many times have to work around impossible guidelines set forth from headquarters.

I found this one interesting because the new CEO had big plans for this company, Muscle Maker Grill, and it looked like the stores were all pretty busy. Recent history hasn't been good to this company however. I bet the covid lockdowns were the real killer.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

For quite a while now, people with a VIP211k have been losing their recordings on their activated external HDDs... even when there's nothing physically wrong with HDD. I believe this is an intentional and underhanded tactic that Dish is pulling in an attempt to force users away from the VIP211k.

They are obviously regretting that they ever let users have a "non-dvr" dvr in the first place. You would think they would be happy charging you a $40 one time fee... and then be happy letting the customer be the one responsible for HDD failures.

Dish clearly hates the 211k bitter-clingers. This recording deletion problem is intentional (IMO), and I think it is just one more tool that they are using. Hopper and a 2-year agreement... that's what they want you to have. Think about that... a 2-year agreement... with a company $30 Billion in debt (that's with a B). What happens when all that debt causes them to drop the channel that may have been your whole reason for having Dish in the first place? Guess who's stuck with a service that no longer suits their needs... for the remainder of the 2-year agreement.

On top of that, they don't want you to install it yourself. I purchased and installed all my equipment myself. That used to be common. Now, they lie to me and tell me that my dish must be updated to use a Hopper. Funny thing is... they don't even know what dish I have because they didn't install it, and I didn't tell them. If you ask what type of dish/LNBs the hopper needs... good luck getting an answer. All they know is that whatever you have needs to be upgraded by an installer.

It is quite apparent to me that they care much more about staying in their box, than they do working with the customer. That's too bad, because it hasn't always been that way. It's like they are totally unaware of the current business environment that they are trying to compete in.

I have been a customer since 2010. I will be cancelling my service before the next period. Yeah, I know, my $1,200 a year won't make a difference to them. It just seems like they have forgotten who needs who, especially when you consider the competition in today's streaming world. But hey, they will have succeed in forcing me off the 211k.

Well, after nine months of being on pause, I finally figured out that I was wasting $5 a month. So I cancelled. For the first time since 2010, I no longer have a Dish account.

I do have to say that I did appreciate the account pause option. That just gives a person some time to see what the fallout of cancelling will be... without having to go all the way over the cliff first.

Since I never once had an "oh shoot, I need Dish Network for..." moment, the decision was a lot easier.

Funny enough, when I called to cancel (for real, not playing the pricing game), all of a sudden, they were offering me deals that I was told before that I couldn't get without changing out my VIP211k. Now, I could have had those specials with them just sending me a new card for the receiver. LOL!

Of course, my mind was already made up because of having not missed the service while on pause. That, and the fact that I bet the 211k still kills recordings.

All in all, I'm glad that I had Dish for all those years. I just outgrew the need, and they pressed the issue by deleting recordings. I would have eventually went this route without the deleted recordings issue. But, for sure, that did hasten the outcome.

I'll still pop in at this site from time to time. Believe it or not, I still have a C/Ku BUD that I intend on playing with again if life ever slows down.

Unless things have changed at Dish, which is entirely possible, they won't activate the 211, even as a replacement. I gave one to a customer a while back....which when I turned it off I made sure to tell the CSR I wanted it freed up so another customer could use it, I was assured it was.....and when they called to swap out there's they were told it couldn't be done. Now like I said, things MIGHT HAVE CHANGED.
