Hi all,
I spent the better part of yesterday skewing my lnbf trying to get the best possible signal, after repairing one of my dish arms that rusted away at the end.
I patched the very end of the arm, making sure the arm was the same length as the other 2. I had removed the lnbf to prevent any possible damage prior to my restoration work.
I then skewed it as I've always done, making sure the dish was at peak and the lnbf was at zero.
This time though, fine tuning it with my Sathero 300hd meter I was only able to get vertical polarity, which came in strong. No steady horizontal no matter how I tried adjusting the lnbf. The horizontal signal was dancing all over the place with no lock. I tried several other satellites and again no horizontal. Vertical signals were attained on all other satellites.
My question…is my lnbf going bad ?
I bought it from Titanium when he first introduced the 5g lnbf several years ago.

Well the issue ended up being the end of the arm I repaired. It was off center just enough to affect my horizontal polarity.
Once I removed the repaired end from the scaler and replaced it with wire tie the horizontal polarity returned
Now I just have to make a more permanent repair.
Thanks again so much to all of you who showed a concerted effort to help me solve this issue.
The only issue that remains is that I'm not getting the transponder 4180H 30000 on 101W. Guess I have to tweak that repair a little more. All other horizontal transponders are strong.

Try scanning 4180 H @ 30.000 again and see if it shows up. If not, do a blind scan.
This transponder has been re-configured at least two times in as many weeks to allow expansion of the
Weigel mux, and it might be a quick solution before you spend a lot of time tweaking the arm, given
that the other horizontal signals are working.

Try scanning 4180 H @ 30.000 again and see if it shows up. If not, do a blind scan.

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. Just had a customer come in inquiring about internet. He has HughesNet and had heard good things about mine. He asked if we provided email addresses and it kinda caught me off guard. I said he should be able to keep whatever email he had been using....my sister in law is still using a BellSouth email addy and they haven't been around here for many years. He said he had gotten a letter from HughesNet stating that they had until Nov 16th to save, move, forward, whatever, their Hughesnet emails because they would lose them after that date.
I have never heard of a company simply mass-deleting email accounts (the customer still has his HughesNet service). From what I understand, in the past, the company who was ditching their email service simply sold the customer base to a company like Google.
Anyone else getting this letter. He said he would show it to me tomorrow when I go out there and set up his internet.

For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.

It makes sense, however, I would want more types of restraints, so if one doesn't work, the other does ... the restraints coming over the shoulder I would have expected ... with a Seat belt as last resort.
Fwiw, I inquired with what they use on Coasters at Cedar Point, various Coasters, different restraints according to what the car and track requires ...
NONE of the Coasters at CP use THAT particular system
