I recently received the new C140 and C240 5G filtered BLUE LNBFs from Titanium Satellite https://titaniumsatellite.com/products.php

The C140 has one output and the C240 has two. The pass band for both LNBFs is from 4,000 to 4,200 MHz. Most North American satellites have moved all of their transponders to this 200 MHz frequency range, with the exception of 115W and 117W which are intended for Mexico.

This first signal graph is from an older LNBF that has a pass band of 3,800 to 4,200 MHz. As you can see, the 5G signal spikes at my QTH are quite strong!

The signal graph below is from the new Titanium C140 LNBF, taken from the same dish and the same satellite as above. It filters 5G very well below 4,000 MHz.
c140.jpg

Graphs are useful, but the most important consideration is how well do these LNBFs perform with actual FTA TV viewing? I scanned each satellite from 103W to 139W and I didn't see any reception glitches.

When mounting these LNBFs, the "0" mark on the back should be adjusted so that it is horizontal (parallel to the horizon).

The LNBF package includes a scalar ring, 7 mounting screws, an allen wrench, a dielectric slab for circular polarity reception, and an installation guide with specifications.

The photo below compares the size of the C140 (in front) with the older C138. You can see that the C140 has a larger circuit board container, which is very well sealed to prevent moisture intrusion.

In summary, I am very pleased with the performance of these 2 new LNBFs. If you are experiencing any 5G interference in your C-Band reception, I highly recommend the Titanium C140 and C240 LNBFs.

Brian's blue lnbf came today. It works great. The 3.8 to 4.2 lnbf in the last few months became unwatchable on several feeds as the last of the 5g got turned on in September. The new 4.0 to 4.2 dual is fantastic. Hope it works great for everyone.

A transponder at 3947 MHz is far below the band pass frequency range of 4000 - 4200 MHz and will not be received. The C140 and C240 BLUE filter LNBFs attenuate all signals outside the band pass. Simply put: you cannot filter out the frequency that you wish to receive. Save your money, aggrevation, dissappointment and a pending bad product review! 😯

Your best chance of receiving the 3947 transponder is to locate a 3900 - 4200 BPF LNBF.

AND

Block the 5G terrestrial signals from reaching your dish. You might have to move the dish behind a structure or build a rf wall out of chicken wire / hardware cloth, etc.

It is extremely helpful to use a 3700 or 3800 - 4200 BPF LNBF with a spectrum display, to view the 5G interfering signal spikes that would be present below 3980 MHz. You will then see if attempts to block the terrestrial 5G signals are attenuating the spikes. An inexpensive tinySA Ultra purchased on Amaxon or Ebay along wthe a 2GHz splitter is all you need to identify the signals you wish to receive vs those you don't. Otherwise, your just playing an expensive game of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" with labor and buying / trying various filters.

@ the red Highlighted: The Titanium C240, for some reason may have defied the odds as I'm able to scan, log and play the video without interference on Octagon SF8008, and TBS6903X. See attached screenshots.

Titanium Well, even though I am in the center of 3 cell towers, all of which are a minimum of 2.5 miles away, and 5g is pretty weak right here, I recently started getting just a bit of 5g pixelation on my satellite channels. Just enough to be really annoying. So, I bit the bullet, and just bought and received a Titanium C240 5g filtered LNBF today. I just finished installing it, AND, the results are GREAT!

Pixelation is gone, and no more issues. I also made sure it was installed and tweaked perfectly for my dish, and I even got a hair better signal from it, almost 2dB compared to the older C1-PLL Titanium NON 5g filtered LNBF.

Thanks Brian, I appreciate it!

I would be really interested to know if anyone has successfully used this method to block 5G signals. I see that it did not work for N6BY so I just wonder if it has worked for anyone.

What we really need is an LNB where the upper threshold of the lower filter is user-adjustable, so that you can set it to anything from 3.7GHz on up to somewhere near 4.2GHz Anything below where you set it would be blocked, anything above would be passed. Of course it would also filter 4.2GHz up, so the pass range would be wherever you set the lower limit to, up to 4.2GHz. So you could have 3.7-4.2, 3.8-4.2, 3.9-4.2, etc. but you could also have like 3.94-4.2. So you could tune it with (for example) a small screwdriver and try to find the "sweet spot" where the 5G interference disappears, leaving the channel you want.

Part of the reason for this is I have read that T-mobile uses 3.9GHz so if you are trying to get something on 3947 MHz and T-mobile's pumping out 5G on 3900 MHz, none of the fixed-bandpass filters I have seen would help, and also nobody wants to spend several hundred dollars on a filter that only works with the really old style LNB's and feedhorns and that only might work. I know we probably all have some old Chaparral feedhorns lying around but I really have no desire to go back to those clunky things, plus those are the ones that use that stupid mechanical polorotor to switch polarity (that always seems to die in the coldest part of winter).

I just purchased and installed on my 10 ft fiberglass dish today. I have a tbs6983 on a PC using an ASC1with a completely open view in the southern sky with a national wildlife refuge right to my south I got one because my old c138 is not picking up any horizontal transponders. After some diagnosis, it looks to me like I got some type of lightning strike. The core of the coax from lnb to ground block completely burned. Replaced cable and c138 was picking up only some vertical transponders so I bought this c140 blue band. I am not getting the results I expected. With a signal strength of 95 and quality of 80, I did a crazy scan of 125w and I am only getting 3 transponders each with a decibel level over 9.==4140v,4160h and 4180v.Trying to figure out what is going on. I got many more channels prior to this ordeal. Any tips would be appreciated. Thamks

For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
Is anyone else also having the same problem? Thanks in advance.

I rebooted my MacBook Air and it's zipping right along. Sorry, but it was taking over 20 seconds to load pages, with the pulsing blue bars so it was munching on something.

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. Just had a customer come in inquiring about internet. He has HughesNet and had heard good things about mine. He asked if we provided email addresses and it kinda caught me off guard. I said he should be able to keep whatever email he had been using....my sister in law is still using a BellSouth email addy and they haven't been around here for many years. He said he had gotten a letter from HughesNet stating that they had until Nov 16th to save, move, forward, whatever, their Hughesnet emails because they would lose them after that date.

I have never heard of a company simply mass-deleting email accounts (the customer still has his HughesNet service). From what I understand, in the past, the company who was ditching their email service simply sold the customer base to a company like Google.

Anyone else getting this letter. He said he would show it to me tomorrow when I go out there and set up his internet.

Doing a Google of the HughesNet Email notice, it seems that HughesNet has been trying to eliminate hosting emails since 2019. And with HughesNet filing Chapter 11 back in August, it would be a smart move to switch to a more stable Email provider. Even AT&T farmed out their Email to Yahoo! years ago.

SpaceX's Starlink and the Cellular 5G Home Internet solutions have pretty much relegated HughesNet and its high latency, low bandwidth Internet service to History. If Earth had shorter days, maybe a Geostationary Internet Solution might have stood a fighting chance…

Well, I helped him set up a gmail acct....I actually wanted to see what the new process is for setting up a gmail acct since it had been years since I set mine up. Anyway, I showed him how to forward the emails he wanted to keep over.

Can't help but wonder if a worker overlooked checking the harness. I rarely ride a roller coaster anymore but when I do I check the harness myself pretty aggressively.
Can't imagine what the son is going through.

Back on the Goliath Roller Coaster ... I'm interested to find more details as well ...
Like where on the track did this happen (somewhere I read that it was on the climb up the top), which is impossible ...

They really need to take that ride and add at the very least, seatbelts ...

The Park is opening back up on Friday, the ride will Not be opening ... personally, I would keep it closed until different type of restraints can be designed and installed (over the winter).

I find it hard to believe that this ride is even allowed to be running with the restraints that exist at the moment, there are other rides that use the same type and they have been shut down across the country.

You got to believe that every ride has at least 2 types of restraint systems in place.

I wonder what and when we will hear from the Manufacturer ... and whatever governing bodies control these ...

Just think, this is a Major Amusement Park .... I would not have any problem getting on the Roller Coasters I have rode ...

Imagine what these County Fairs and others like them, I would not be caught Dead on one of them ... they get put up and tore down every other week, where is the safety for those rides ... No Thank You.

Had no idea there were that many redundancies built into those restraints.

It makes sense, however, I would want more types of restraints, so if one doesn't work, the other does ... the restraints coming over the shoulder I would have expected ... with a Seat belt as last resort.

Fwiw, I inquired with what they use on Coasters at Cedar Point, various Coasters, different restraints according to what the car and track requires ...

NONE of the Coasters at CP use THAT particular system :)
I'm glad to see ...

According to the article, when you see a seat belt on a ride like this, it is basically used as a way of making sure the rider isn't too large/fat to safely ride the ride.

I just received 6 receiver 2 port mini Multiswitch and it work great, no external power need it, and you can connect 6 receiver instead of 4 on most Mini Multiswitches... If anyone is interested in where they can get one PM me....

Have you tested using external power? Over the years, have found unpowered polarity switching to be unreliable. Especially problematic when used with DiSEqC motors or switch stacking.
H
No I have not. I just got it the other day and it is connected to six receivers working just fine. What I do is non power mini multi-switches work best with LNBF's and with LNB's
