USALS motors: Most have "enjoyed" these devices at one time or another.
My current headache is caused by a Pansat PM900 motor. I got this motor free used. I have no idea of its history. It looks in reasonably good physical condition with no rust. It moves according to USALS commands sent to it. It just doesn't do so reliably. In fact, it mostly moves to one extreme or the other extreme. Once it starts heading to an extreme end, there's nothing one can do to stop or divert it. Once in a while, it goes to the satellite you tell it to go to.
I am using only USALS commands to keep things simple. I find using diseqc commands to move the motor to a stored satellite location is another level of difficulty.
Measured voltage at the motor with no load is 18.8 volts on a horizontal command. Very reasonable for the long 100+ foot RG6 I'm using. I am using a similar cable on an SG2100 motor without a problem.
I thought maybe my latitude/longitude was entered wrong or the data had been corrupted. So I've reentered the data without a change in operation. I even tried entering "South" instead of "North" for the latitude in case there was a programming error in the software just in case. That didn't help.
I thought maybe the 1.2m dish was too much of a burden. So I swapped for a 41" metal dish. I even replaced the Invacom LNB with a lighter LNB. No change. I can't find much info online. If they were popular, it was likely before the Internet was invented.
Pressing the physical switches on the motor does cause the motor to move west or east depending which switch you press. So physically it seems fine. The motor just seems to get mixed up about what to do when you send it commands. I don't see a way to reset the motor as you can with the SG2100. I have the original printed manual for the PM900, which is actually quite good in the old style of instruction manuals, but it isn't helping.
I've used both a GT Media V7S5X and an Edision Mio+ receiver. No difference in operation of the motor.
Any ideas?

I think about when I had FTA back when I owned my house and it kinda looked like that at various times. I had something like 5 FTA dishes on the roof, a couple antennas and 4 or 5 dishes on the deck. Seemed like every week something was switched out
Also had a C-Band dish that I wheeled out of the garage for Alaska Hockey on (at the time) 137W.
Here are some pics from back in the day with 2 C-Band dishes, a torrodial (god remember when those were the thing) and receivers I received from a company. Analog C-Band receivers and receivers that could do 4:2:2 back in the day when it was SD. HD was rare. That would have been early 2000s

oh and the (infamous for me) Hispasat dish mounted on a antenna mast on the roof (only way to see it). Yes it worked!
Top left antenna was aimed at Minneapolis and used during the summer to pick up other stuff

Right antenna was aimed for KEYC Mankato some 75 miles away back when it was just CBS (now I live in Mankato and they have more networks). It was aimed for the extra football game and Bandwagon...the POLKA show that has been on since KEYC inception in 1960
Top left antenna was aimed at Minneapolis and used during the summer to pick up other stuff

In later years, I tried it at my company office with my brand new Fortec 1.2m. I had a rolling test equipment cart too.

It makes sense, however, I would want more types of restraints, so if one doesn't work, the other does ... the restraints coming over the shoulder I would have expected ... with a Seat belt as last resort.
Fwiw, I inquired with what they use on Coasters at Cedar Point, various Coasters, different restraints according to what the car and track requires ...
NONE of the Coasters at CP use THAT particular system

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. Just had a customer come in inquiring about internet. He has HughesNet and had heard good things about mine. He asked if we provided email addresses and it kinda caught me off guard. I said he should be able to keep whatever email he had been using....my sister in law is still using a BellSouth email addy and they haven't been around here for many years. He said he had gotten a letter from HughesNet stating that they had until Nov 16th to save, move, forward, whatever, their Hughesnet emails because they would lose them after that date.
I have never heard of a company simply mass-deleting email accounts (the customer still has his HughesNet service). From what I understand, in the past, the company who was ditching their email service simply sold the customer base to a company like Google.
Anyone else getting this letter. He said he would show it to me tomorrow when I go out there and set up his internet.

For some reason, the satelliteguys.us site is loading a lot slower than usual on both Chrome on my Asus laptop and Safari on my iPhone.
I'm also seeing longer appearances of the blue bar at the top and the "3 blue bars" loading symbol.
