12v DTV box

My father-in-law drives truck and is currently using a converter for his DTV box. We are trying to find a 12v version. Does anyone know where we can get one?

CEV, what dish does your FIL use?

You could look into DirecTV Mobile with the KVH A7. It comes with a phased array low profile dish and a receiver that runs on 12 VDC. However, it is pricey. You can read about it here: TV In Your Car, Satellite TV In Your Car

A good inverter is probably the best option. THink $60-100 range, not $20.

I just discovered another DirecTV receiver that runs on 12VDC input. The Samsung SL10D10, which is a D10-200 receiver combined with a 10" LCD TV. It does have A/V outputs, so it could feed another TV bit I'd imagine the 10" screen might be good for a truck. It's not in production any more but they can be found on eBay on a regular basis, usually for less than $200.
