2 different RF remotes interfering with each other

I have two separate efforts remotes in two different rooms approximately 50 feet from one another on different levels in the house. One is a URC rf remote and the other is a remote without rf capability but is using an rf extender giving it the capabilities. The issue is with the URC rf remote though in that it changes the channels in both rooms. Is there any way to get them to stop communicating across both platforms other than moving further away or unplugging the rf blaster?
