COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced today an updated broadcast schedule that will include 55 games on national and regional television.

Today's announcement reflects the new partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for ownership and distribution of The mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network. The schedule includes national games on OLN (the network will change its name to Versus on Sept. 25) and CSTV, along with non-conference road appearances on other national networks (eg., ESPN, Fox Sports Net and TBS).

In order to add the OLN national telecasts to the schedule and accommodate a weekly regional double-header on The mtn., some minimal adjustments in outlets and kick times were necessary. OLN has committed to televise eight MWC games, while CSTV will air an additional eight contests nationally. A total of 30 games will be televised on The mtn. - the first-ever regional network dedicated to a collegiate conference.

The Mountain West Conference kicks off the season with San Diego State hosting UTEP on Thursday, August 31 in a nationally-televised game on CSTV beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT. Other national highlights include Colorado State hosting Colorado (CSTV) at Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver the second week of the season (Sept. 9), Texas Tech visiting TCU (OLN) on Sept. 16, Boise State at Utah (OLN) on September 30, Notre Dame at Air Force (CSTV) on Nov. 11, and numerous key Conference match-ups throughout the schedule.

The broadcast outlet(s) for the remaining handful of games on the schedule are still to be determined and may include broadband distribution, video-on-demand, customized local programming and/or wireless applications.

The 2006 MWC football television schedule exemplifies the "Fans First" philosophy. Forty-eight of the 55 MWC-controlled games are set for Saturdays (87 percent) with kickoffs generally in institutionally-preferred time slots between 12 noon and 6 p.m.

FSN NW to Air EWU and Idaho Games
Courtesy: Oregon State Sports Information
Release: 08/01/2006

Courtesy: Oregon State Sports Information

The Oregon State University Department of Athletics and Beaver Sports Properties is pleased to announce that the home football games between the Eastern Washington Eagles on Aug. 31 and the Idaho Vandals on Sept. 23 will be televised live by FSN NW. Both games will kickoff at approximately 7 p.m. PDT.

The announcement also marks changes in television and radio programming for this season. The partnership with FSN NW through Beaver Sports Properties is entering its eighth year and will now include FSN NW holding rights to any local Beaver telecasts that were previously aired on the “Beaver Sports Television Network”.

Beaver Sports Properties and FSN NW recently agreed for the regional network to encompass former BSN-TV games in addition to adding a three-month Beavers All-Access magazine show for basketball along with the rights to consider airing a weekly show during the baseball season. FSN NW will continue to air the popular 30-minute Beavers All-Access show during the football season. The show is tentatively set for Wednesday nights and will replay on Fox College Sports (FCS) channels.

FSN NW reaches over 3.4 million households in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. Beaver games and shows will also replay on FCS on cable and satellite systems reaching approximately 30 million households around the country.

FSN NW’s broadcast team for the EWU game will include former OSU quarterback Steve Preece (color), former KATU and CNN news anchor Cathy Marshall (sidelines) and Rich Cellini (play-by-play). Preece and Marshall will also be on the call for the Idaho game.

The first three games of the season will now be televised live, with ESPN carrying the Sept. 7 game at Boise State. The current television schedule also includes the 110th Civil War airing on FSN Fri., Nov. 24. Further live television appearances will be announced in the future.

Beaver Sports Properties also announced talent lineup changes to the Beaver Sports Radio Network. FSN NW’s Todd Mansfield will join the team covering sidelines and hosting pre-game and post-season radio programs. Longtime broadcaster Bob Akamian will cover interviews from the locker room and co-host the post-game wrap up show with Mansfield. Preece will continue to add insights during pre-game on the road and at home. Voice of the Beavers Mike Parker and color analyst Jim Wilson will also begin their third season together in the booth.

Parker will once again host Beaver Sports Talk with Mike Riley every Tuesday night. This season the 7 p.m. network-wide show will air from McMenamins new Monroe Street Pub in Corvallis (www.mcmenamins.com) beginning Tues., Sept. 19. The show at McMenamins will be open to the public. The first Beaver Sports Talk show will kickoff Sept 4 and will be produced from the studio.

TELEVISION

Every BSU game this season is scheduled to air on live television, although not necessarily on local TV.

ESPN or ESPN2 will show at least four games - Oregon State, New Mexico State, Fresno State and Nevada.

The mtn. - the new partnership between College Sports Television and the Mountain West Conference - will show the Wyoming game.

It's unclear how Boise State fans can get that channel.

Versus - currently known as Outdoor Life Network - will show the Utah game.

The channel is not available locally on CableOne.

KTVB-Channel 7 in Boise gets the rights to the other six games, unless ESPN decides to add to its lineup.

The KTVB crew consists of play-by-play announcer David Augusto, color commentator Tom Scott and sideline reporter Larry Gebert.

Those games will also air on the rest of boise state broncos tv network

Idaho football fans in the Treasure Valley can expect to see at least six of the Vandals' games on television this season.

KBCI is scheduled to air the Sept. 2 season-opener at Michigan State, the Sept. 16 home-opener against Idaho State and the WAC-opener Sept. 30 at Utah State.

The games also will air on stations in North Idaho, Lewiston, Eastern Idaho and Twin Falls.

Tom Lewis will serve as the play-by-play voice of the Vandals, with former Idaho quarterback Ken Hobart providing the commentary.

Two other games — the Sept. 9 game at Washington State and the Sept. 23 matchup at Oregon State — are being televised by Fox Sports Northwest.

Also, the Boise State-Idaho game on Oct. 21 is expected to be shown on television.

All of Idaho's games can be heard on local radio. KGEM (1140 AM) is one of 14 stations statewide that will air Vandal football. Tom Morris will serve as the voice of the Vandals, with Evan Ellis providing color

Kickoff Times Set for Alabama’s First 3 Football Games
Release: 08/04/2006

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The University of Alabama football team will open its 2006 season with a trio of televised games at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Director of Athletics Mal Moore announced today that Alabama’s games against Hawaii (September 2) and Louisiana-Monroe (Sept. 16) will be produced by the Crimson Tide Sports Network for pay-per-view distribution with both contests slated to begin at 6:07 p.m. central time. The Vanderbilt game, scheduled for Sept. 9, will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be televised by Fox Sports South, the Crimson Tide’s first appearance ever on that network.

“We are excited to have CTSN producing the games with Hawaii and Louisiana-Monroe, as well as with the opportunity to play Vanderbilt on the Fox Sports South network,” Moore said.

CTSN general manager Michael Alford said the pay-per-view telecasts will be anchored by the network’s David Crane, who will be joined in the booth by former Tide quarterback Tyler Watts and CTSN’s Chris Stewart.

Fans will be able to order the Crimson Tide Pay-Per-View telecasts through their local cable company. CTSN will make both games available to DirecTV and the Dish Network. Outside of Alabama, the games will be available on ESPN Game Plan.
