2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Well we found out what it takes to beat the Wings. Just make them play nine on six. The ref's absolutely blew that call on Kronwall, and couple other ones, with no calls.

Memo from the office of the NHL commissioner-

From now on all full body checks will no longer be allowed without the following:

#1 - Full notification of this office including the following: Time and place of such check. Player doing the checking. To be known as the checker. Player being checked. To be known as the checkee. All forms shall be in triplicate, and submitted to the commissioners office before the "check". Notarization is also required.

#2 - All hospitalization forms to be signed by both parties.

#3- Notification to the ref's overseeing the game, that a "check" will be occurring with the information required in line #1.

#4 - Referee's will then review said request.

#5 - Only on approval will such "check" be allowed, if deemed it to be a proper "hockey" move.

#6 - Checks will not be allowed on a "checkee" who is not aware he is about to be "checked".

#7- Checks that may result in "checkee" being knocked "into tomorrow" will not be allowed. As well as checks that will "kill the checkee's whole family".

#8 - Checks that don't meet the previous criteria will be penalized by a 5 minute interference stay in the "time out" box. Game misconduct penalties may also result.

The Office of the Commissioner in hopes of further pussifying the game hockey, wishes that all teams comply with this directive. Our goal is to erase all violence from this gentleman's game.

Signed - Gary Bettman.

I won't disagree about the call but "stuff" happens and it's time for the veterans to regroup and focus on Sunday's game. It will be nice to get Datsyuk back - he does no many things on defense that often goes unnoticed.

Can someone tell Campbell to stop whining in the press already? That guy is the biggest hypocrite in hockey. Calling that a gutless hit after a few he has had this year?

I hope Nik lays his ass out next!!!

WOW..... Is all I have to day... The refs will call a weak ass hit on bufflin, when he was coming to an aid of a fellow player, yet detroit slashes one of our sticks wich goes flying in the air and was an obvious penalty and it doesnt get called. That lead to the breakaway goal that was just scored. This is like the last game, except instead of detroit being in the box, its chicago, and detroit is now up by two. Also, Habbi needs to get the hell out of the goal, Hurt or not the bullin wall needs to be in there. This is the playoffs. You play hurt, You have the next 4-5 months to heal.

What are you talking about? Detroit was given eleven...yes, 11 minutes in the penalty box on Friday (5 of those minutes on a legal hit on Havlat who was looking down at the puck at his skates), but the Wings had a whopping one...yes, 1 powerplay in the 1st. They didn't score on their sole powerplay BTW, but this did score a short-handed goal on the Blackhawks PP. The other penalties were matching minors.

Speaking of Byfuglien...the guy has been holding and interfering the entire first period. The refs haven't called it...so be it. Your complaining about so-called "non penalties" on Byfuglien (not Bufflin) equates to Campbell complaining about Kronwall's "cheap shot" (legal hit by the way) when, in fact, Campbell has been involved in his fair share of "cheap shottery".

Also, why was Pahlsson only given a 2-minute roughing penalty when he blatantly "cheat shotted" Filppula? Hell, Filppula was 50ft. from the puck and had his back turned to Pahlsson. This should have been a 5-minute major at the very least.

Additionally, did you see Kronwall get slashed? Just how his stick flew 30ft. into the air (all by itself) and a penalty not be called against Chicago is amazing to me. But guess what...poop happens! From what I've seen so far in this series, the refs are bending-over-backwards calling horrible penalties against the Wings while permitting the Blackhawks to get away with murder. It sucks, but you deal with it. For you to say the Blackhaws are getting the "short hand of the stick" is disingenuous, at best.
