Yikes! Tigers gave Fister a 2-run lead to work with which is more than he got (1.97 per game) for an entire game at Seattle. I have to admit that "things" are looking up for the team: Betemit is hitting near .300 since coming from KC; Fister has a good ERA...just needs to perform like he has been; Guillen is back at 2nd base so Rayburn is sitting; Rayburn actually had a couple key hits since Guillen returned; Ondonez' batting average has been creeping-up since coming off the DL; anything I misssed?

You didn't miss, but do you think Raburn hits better NOW because he doesn't have an everyday position ?
Seams like he's more relaxed and getting some decent at bats.

I really like Guillen coming back, playing a very solid 2B AND hitting.

Someone here chided me when I mentioned that I thought that Guillen would do well back at 2B if he got back.

He's getting old and yes the Tigers still need to find an EVERYDAY 2B, but Guillen is getting the job done.

One thing you did miss is the fact that Avilla is heating up again !
He's 10 for 34 in the last 10, not including tonight. Had a HR last night and one tonight as well.
Tonight he's 2-2 with a HR and 2 rbi

Also, why are we pitching Valverde again this evening? He's pitching too many back-to-back nights IMO. I'm just hoping we can give Fister a win after he gave up 3-runs.

He's the Closer ?

It's 5-4 now.

I hate it when a reliever gives up a run or two and then closes out the win and gets the Win because he gave up runs ...

I believe my concern was how long will he be back on the field. Woohooo he made it a week. Awesome job patting yourself on the back though. Sure wish you'd be so forthcoming when your wrong. Guess we won't see that though right?

Thanks for the sarcasm .....

What happens if Guillen plays the rest of this year ... do you come back and admit it YOU were wrong, if he plays next year as well ....

I HIGHLY DOUBT IT .....

It;s EASY to pick something that has a 75 % chance of you being right and sticking to it, a little different when you make a statement the OTHER way.

If he plays all (half the year) then I will gladly come back and admit I was wrong. It'd make me happy to do so. I am a huge fan. Just not a slappy like the media and fans around here. I say what most think. I certainly will come back and eat crow. Good enough???

Slappy ?

Your word.

It's really easy to sit back and BOAST when things go wrong, that they should have done this or that....
How about taking a real position, admit it, you HATE it when they play well.

Edit:

Slappy (from the Urban divctionary)
stupid or moronic person

So, your calling me Stupid or Moronic ...

Thanks, what a guy. :trolls:

I hate it when they play good? Sorry can't admit that. Nice try though genius. I've not missed a game on tv or going when I had season tickets for 9 years. Pretty sure that means I watched all kinds of crap baseball. Only difference is they weren't expected to win nor did they have a 100+ million dollar payroll. Therefore nothing to be critical of. Next?
