2020-21 NCAA Football Thread

Well it appears that Mac Jones is the real deal. You could see flashes of it last season when Tua went down, but getting the keys to the bus completely this season shows the boy can drive. Absolutely spectacular.
Jones has looked better and better the more he gets comfortable ... Not to mention, he's got some really good recvrs as well. WR. Smith is a Stud and RB Harris is the real deal as well.

Same goes for T. Lawrence and J. Fields

Being that it's a conference game, the NCAA really can't do anything.

Not the SEC's fault that the Big Ten has screwed themselves this entire season.
And it may have happened this week ...
After Wisconsin's impressive performance from thier back up QB Mertz (remember, hes the back up as the #1 guy is injured) its been reported that Mertz tested positive ....
If thats true, he's out for 21 days ... but do they go thru the 3 test deal first, or is the first test, the end all be all ?

This morning I saw a report on espn or BTN that another Wisconsin QB also tested positive.
That would potentially be 3 qbs out ... (as well as potential other issues with the team and covid).

It appears that Clemson's Trevor Lawrence had Covid 19 and will miss the game against Boston College on Saturday.
He tested positive on Thursday (test was Wednesday) .... ACC rules says players will be out for 10 days ...
Looks like he will only miss the BC game and will be back in time for the next weeks game against Notre Dame, provided no other tests after that reveal issues.

The real problem with this is that the Big Ten made it so you had to have 6 games completed to be in the Championship game ... this is one mark against Ohio State overall, yet they had nothing to do with the fact that the game won't be played.
Who cares?! Any title this year carries a massive asterisk around it. Just be glad that football is actually being played... for the moment at least.

Is the 6-game rule a standing rule, or something from this year?

And with an 8 game schedule, are they already in danger of missing 3 games?

Don't worry Ohio State will get in. The only problem is themselves. If they get the virus the Big Ten will change the rules for them. It would suck they go thru the season and get the virus during Champions week.

I care, it's not every year that we have an offense like this one.
It's a case of how good the Defense can become, which would normally gell as the season goes on.

They Won't change any rules for them, at least the Big Ten won't.

I think as of now, only one SEC game hasnt been postponed for this week.
4 games cancelled in the SEC this week.

Rescheduling will be a nightmare if not impossible.

yeah, they only have 1 open week for each team, many have already burned through those.

Could use the SEC championship game week to make up non Florida & Alabama games though.
