301 acquiring guide info daily

I was going to call dish tomorrow but if I can resolve it here why deal with dish customer service.
Here's my problem.
My old 301 box is acquiring the guide signal once a day interrupting my tv watching. It happens at random times whereas an hour earlier it may have been able to show me up to 3 days worth of info. It's like my box it forgetting what it had stored. How can I resolve my random daily guide update? It is annoying to hit the guide button and see downloading program info from satellite. Lately I resort to blind channel flipping and the browse button until something boring comes on. Any help?

does it do at deffrent times ?? if same time and if i remember right u can adjust time for updates also set it to take updats with out permision.. software could be out of date.. also ck conections wire for broken or dirty ends et. see how strong your signal is.. could a tree or something be in way ?? ck your wall plug if for some resson it looses power or unpluged this could be proplem

it shouldnt download guide unless it goes through a software reset, like unplugging or after a switch test, an intermittent 002 or 015 wont normally do it. just make sure you let the guide download all the way, dont cancel it, and set it for a time that is convenient, like when no one is watching.
