Just wondering if any confirmation or news about MSNBC HiDef hitting their projected June 29th date and whether we will get it ????

Yes, I'm sorry to say that it was delayed until July 8th.

I sure hope that the other great NBC programming such as The Chris Matthews Show and Meet The Press will also go HD along with MSNBC.

I've waited this long, I guess another week past June won't hurt.
MSNBC and HLN are the 2 channels I'd still like to have in HD.
At least he didn't say "soon"

Just to be clear, is MSNBC pushing their launch back to July 8th, or is Dish not turning on MSNBC HD until July 8th, and MSNBC is still launching on June 29th?

I think the only way us absolute folks would get it is if it went into the platinum tier...... and I don't see that happening.
Or if they fix Turbo subs and somehow mirror that onto Absolute folks as well. It's a long shot, but possible. I've been surprised already at the channels added to Absolute HD.

6/27

got this from another forum

It is probably a Dish thing because coincedentally Dish has pushed it back to July 8, which is a Wednesday, which is also uplink day.

MSNBC HD actually debuts either on 6/27 or 6/29.

It probably "unofficially" shows up on Galaxy 14 on the 27th for a few days of testing, then goes live 6/29 for broadcast. No one outside of broadcasting is supposed to see that screen a few posts up.

Dish, though, seems to want 9 extra days of testing.

Well it is past midnight on the east coast so today is the day that MSNBC was supposed to go HD. Does anyone have any info on the status of the HD channel? July 8th seems like a long way off. Wonder if any other providers have lit it up.

EDIT: I think that they are close. They are launching a couple of new shows on Monday and the video boxes for the evening shows on msnbc.com are now rectangle.
