I am thinking of getting this settup
39" SATELLITE DISH+SG2100 MOTOR+QPH031

I have a BUD and there are two adjustmants on the BUD.
The one you tune in the Sothern most sat. and the other is to tun in the E and W sats.

With these 39" dishes with motors. Is that adjustment on these also.
Do I first tun in the sothern sat. and that is it or do I also have to do the tunning of the E and W sats?

Also I have a SONICVIEW 8000. Is all I need to run the motor ie a 1.2 Discq swith? And enable that motor option in the menu for that sattilite and fine tune the azimuth?

I guess what I am asking is can someone give me the full satilite tuneup proceedure for a 39" motorized dish and if possible the menu setting for the 8000?

Thanks
Bobby

Bobby,

You may need to start your own thread for your questions. A lot of people used to read Newbies Gone Wild, but I think most are now waiting for my next project.

The only thing I can tell you is that I will never again try to push a 4 foot dish with an SG2100 motor. I'll bet it will work fine with your 39 inch dish.

Is that a 2" mast in the last picture?

Cool. Thank you.
BTW is it true you HAVE TO HAVE a disqu 1.2 motor switch to operate tha motor?

I just got a Panasonic 37" dish with a PM900S motor. The man I bought it from said he did not use a Disqu 1.2.

I thought you had to have one to operate the motor.

If so can you point me to a place to buy one and should I put it near the dish?

TVBobby,

You should start your own thread for more / better answers.....

You are "mixing" a DiSEqC Switch and DiSEqC Motor
DiSEqC = Digital Satellite Equipment Control, it's a set of Standardized Commands that a DiSEqC compliant Sat Receiver can send over the cable to control DiSEqC compliant equipment, switches motors. Think of DiSEqC 1.2 as DiSEqC Level 2, more advanced than Level 1.

You do not need a DiSEqC Switch to use / control a DiSEqC Motor
You should look up "USALS" for motor control
