I've been getting the 318 error message for the past 2 months. After unplugging to reboot, the program guide only goes out a few hours. 24 hours later I still have no long term program info (beyond 3 hours). When looking at the menu under installation and system info it shows the guide set up as 3 hour view. This reboot error comes up once a week now. Someone here suggested that I need a new receiver.

Yes I can pause live TV. I was told to check the values of 0 and 1 in the system info section. They are both 0
Sounds like you may be getting the 2-program guide from any satellite. For the 8-day guide you need 119W on the Western Arc or possibly 72.7W on the EA. Check your signal levels in menu+6+1+1 for these. Must be green.
