As expected (~90 days passed) AACS updated their system:
Home : AACS - Advanced Access Content System

To summarize:
- SlySoft is pinpointed as the evil hacker;
- AACS LA believes they know how it (AnyDVD) works;
- PowerDVD turned out to be the "weakest link";
- PCs are not banned as a playback platform;
- WinXP is not banned as a playback OS;
- Forced key updates will be enforced.

No deadline for implementing all this.
Will see how long this takes to hack... :)

I haven't seen any cutoff dates mentioned.
Any day now a newly released HD/BD movie will have PowerDVD's key blacklisted.
Cyberlink must have an update to its player ready by the time this happens.

JoeSP: How long did it take you to post this?

Diogen: About 3 minutes. Why?

He got you Diogen. You missed it with your response. He was joking that its already been done (even though it probably hasn't) :)

Didn't know that you can miss what hasn't happened...
But then again, I didn't know lots of things until I started reading JoeSp's posts... :)
