Well, i posted on another forum of a problem i was having. The 12000 transponder on 101ku has their AC3 signal whacked out. Been like that for awhile. My high end Audio receiver has much more pronounced glitches because it resets the audio when the glitch comes through. It's so annoying that i cannot listen to it. I figured out that if i turn on AC3 down-mix for the channels on the transponder, the audio glitches are resolved within the satellite receiver and sends a clean AC3 signal to the audio receiver. Now, there are still glitches, but its not very noticeable and am able to listen without being annoyed.

The problem is, its a pain to remember, oh for this channel i need AC3 pass-thru off, and this on, and run through the remote commands to enable/disable. I want 99.9% of the channels to be AC3 down-mix OFF. Only for the channels on this transponder do i want it On. Remedy. I wrote a E2 plugin that is very user friendly that i set the default mode, and then add the channels that i want opposite the default value, and the satellite receiver automatically turns AC3 down-mix on/off. Of course, its smart enough to only change the setting if it needs to.

Can we download this plugin online?

Not as of yet, and im not entirely sure it will work with open implementations of E2 as it is, as there are subtle differences. Im using a real DreamBox which uses the DreamOS. There might be little variances where ill have to make modifications to the program to work, but i'd need someone that would be willing to troubleshoot. However before that, i do have a Open E2 box that i have. I plan on installing the plugin onto that box to see if it works, and if not, ill make the changes needed. If i can get it to work on that box, then im pretty sure it would work with 90% of all systems.

Found two resolutions to the AC3 glitching :

Setup the channel as a RELAY channel, then the audio is perfect.

In another words, you set up an IPTV channel, that uses the following url :

Code:
http://[ip of e2]:[port (mine is 8001) / Channel Service Reference.

example :

Code:
http://IP:8001/1:0:1:2:1:0:816AEE0:0:0:0:

The other Option is just start a record. Then go into your movie list, and start watching the recording. You don't have to wait more then a couple seconds to start watching the recording, and since its recording, it will keep playing the stream. When your done watching the channel, stop the recording.

The recording trick does work to clean up the audio so it sounds good.

I have many folders of IPTV channels, but these were all set up using the iptv-org playlists plugin. On an Edision Mio+, I forget (or never knew) how to set up just one IPTV channel.

I use dreambox Edit 7.2.10 - That's what i use to modify my boutiques/favorites, and allows you to manually create a IPTV channel on the fly as a channel or edit the url/name of the IPTV channel.

The reason this works, apparently its a glitch in the DVB hardware. It is too strict, and the Gstreamer (which is whats used if your watching a stream or a file) is much more forgiving. I'm using a broadcom Si2166B and Si2166D tuner cards, so i suspect anyone using the same tuner card in their receivers would encounter the problem. Im curious if people using the FBC tuners have the same issue.

Thanks, Yeah timeshift seems to work to fix the audio glitch also.
