Activation - 2 hrs and counting...

I'm RA'ing my 622 (second one) because of a bad HDMI port. I've been trying to get the new one authorized/activated for 2 hours now...

The web site activation doesn't work. It refers me to a phone number to call, as there are apparently no receivers on my account in need of activation. Called it, was told the new 622 should be active in 20 minutes.

Fast forward an hour. I decide to call tech support. I got a script reader asking me what messages are being displayed on TV2. <sigh> I'm running in single mode to one TV. Hung up on that NASA engineer.

I called an account specialist, hoping that they might take the time and additional steps to get it properly activated. 1YK put me on hold and told me it should be up and running in 15 minutes. That was 10 minutes ago... Should I hold my breath?

Anyone know the secret passcode to get this thing activated? I'm guessing the person who set up my RA forgot to click on something while completing the transaction. What a PITA...
 
Sometimes, after activation, you need to do a check switch test.

I ran the check switch during set-up but, didn't realize that running it again could help. Good advice :up

In fact, there was a problem with the RA'd receiver, SBSOD's out the wazoo this morning. So, I called tech to reactivate the original 622 and he ran me through the check switch to get it up and running. Worked like a charm. Wish I had known that last night :D

I'll be getting another 622 in a few days, hopefully the HDMI works and the unit isn't defective. I actually prefer to use Component but, I'm planning on running two displays from one STB so, I'd really like HDMI to work in my set-up. HDMI, the cause of many frustrations...
