Guys I seem to have Locked In on AMC 5 so far my signal rate is 15-59% the highest seem to be on Transpondent 2 11972 H 8.417 yet I get no channels when I do a blind scan however it finds 10 transpondents. What could be the problem?

Signal rate does not mean much, what you want is a high quality level.

What receiver are you using?
What size dish are you using?

Also I believe that 11972 H 8.417 is on 83 Degrees West not AMC 5.

Use 11741 V 11110 or 12181 H 23000 which are on AMC 5.

Sorry I was actually referring to my quality not the signal as 15-60%. It's quite posible I'm pointing at the wrong satellite then.

you're at the wrong satellite...

AMC5 has 2 strong transponders
11742 V 11110 (freq, pol, symbol rate)
12182 H 23000

I have the right satellite now but the signal stays on 10% and jumps 99% frequently I simply can't get it to stay on 99%. I've done a lot of tweaking to no avail.

well lets ask the obvious...I assume the LNB LO is set up right? According to the equipment in your sig, the LNB LO should be 10750.

Have you tried playing with the LNB skew, dish azimuth, dish elevation?

Also are you using a motor or a fixed dish?
I'm using a Motor dish with Invacom LNB. Is there any other 10750 sat that I can try? I'm getting Picture on Kuen-tv but the signal is too weak.

What does the SKEW do? I've been able to determined that my east and west movement of the dish is okay it's just the up/down movement that I need to fix. I'm not sure whether I can use the receiver to correct this because it's off by just a tiny bit.

skew on the box is if you have an old LNB like what was on the C-Band setups. There were 3 wires that hookd ot the back of the box to control polarity. SInce you are using a LNBF that skew is moot :)

On those 2 transponders on my 1500 (the little brother of the 2500) I get around 65-70 quality on both transponders posted
