I stream al jazeera while I walk, wish we had it on more providers in the states.

I've had it on as background all day today on Roku. It's the same loop, I don't think they've changed a thing all day.

There was a local article about the channel today, as one of the Charlotte news anchors is leaving for an anchor position with the new channel. In that article, they also listed Dish among the providers carrying the channel.
Have you seen the documentaries from that news channel? I wouldn't think that any american broadcasters or providers would approve of that. If you're not sure what I mean google or YouTube search
True. Dish has a history of not carrying international news channels. So, to only carry AJE wouldn't be fair to BBC World, NHK World, etc
Too bad, though, as AJ is actually pretty good.
Hopefully people will stay away from this channel and let it die a quick, expensive death. From what I've seen of this channel, I can't fathom anyone in America watching it.
I'll be blocking this channel as soon as it premiers ,just like I did the Blaze channel.
What have you seen? Do you ride a bicycle full time? If not, in a round about way, you are helping to support this channel each time you fill up your vehicle with gas. I will take Al Jazeera or BBC with their government supported money over 24/7 Trayvon Martin coverage brought to you by big pharma and lawsuit commercials.
People complain about Dish NOT having channel X and now people are complained by about Dish HAVING (or getting) channel Y. LOL!

I have seen a lot of the updates coming from Al Jazeera America, and I think the majority of criticism is unfounded and made out of ignorance. Dish Network should at least give the channel a shot considering they will be based in America and likely know they can't push certain views of those where Al Jazeera itself is based. Several talented U.S. news anchors have been hired, and I for one would like to see what they will cover since God knows American news outlets are going down the crapper.
When I was on vacation in Canada while the Sopranos was still airing new. It was on basic broadcast TV.

So you're suggesting that they add Al Jazerra Naked News to DISH instead? So that way we get a "Different"perspective from outside our country and we get to over come our fear of naked bodies too. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
Dish should give this channel a chance & I hope they do. They can put garbage like "blaze" on, so this can't hurt anything if they try it.

I will say that I hope Dish carries this channel, but I worry from what I am reading that it is being neutered to be more like CNN/MSNBC/FOX/etc., and less like AJE. AJE is overall a good news channel and I watch them on 9410 from time to time. Just because AJA airs bin laden's tapes does not make them a terrorist channel. Does FOX airing <insert choice of president here> mean they support everything he says? No.. they're just showing what he said.
America needs an actual NEWS network, which we don't have today.
If you don't like it, just don't watch it. I hope everyone is intelligent enough to give it a chance and make their own decisions.

It has always been true: He who gets his news from one source knows only what that one source wants them to know. To be truly informed requires a balanced diet consisting of a number of news sources.
Every time the middle east heats up - which sadly is quite often - I start watching the half hour of AJ news that comes on at 7 Pacific on LINK. It's amazing what just doesn't get covered by the American media and I've yet to see an anti-American slant to the reporting.
I welcome more news coverage. To those who worry about AJ, when it shows up watch it and evaluate it for yourself. My judgement of various American news channels comes from my own viewing - not from what others tell me. Left, Right, Center, whatever; think for yourself, it's too important to leave to somebody else.
