Hello all,
Well after a few months of planing and bad weather I got my Alcoa 8' dish up.

Got a new 12' black pipe in the ground, The Actuator works great and it tracks the arc using a Gbox V3000 , BSC621-2 LNB and a Traxis 3500. (58w to 137w)
It was about an hour to set it up and watching channels after getting it on the pole.

I haven't had the time to tweak the LNB but hope to do that soon.

Getting 87%Q and 100% Signal on CW channels so that not too bad I guess for doing it by eye.

I would like to get AMC8 but no luck yet.
It's like 14.7 deg Elevation here so it maybe unrealistic due to some trees it skims.
But C and KU is working!

I posted some pics to my album:

I like to find more info on this dish as Alcoa has no idea about where this dish was made and when.
They have no records on dishes but one old timer does, but can't remember anything about it.
Maybe an old ad is laying around somewhere.

I noticed that Andrews KU dish setting next to your C Band dish. It sure looks a lot like my DTN dish. Can you do me a favor and take a picture of it with the support arms and a close up of your LNB holder.

Thanks

Sure.
I have the parts numbers for them also.
It had just one arm to hold a dish/directv LNB so I just ordered the 3 leg support
mount and LNB holder.

I will have the pics up later today.

Here is a picture before the new mount was ordered.

You may have the only alcoa dish left! Wonder if they still make cans, weren't they the ones who
advertised "the can with the uncanny taste" ? LOL

I think your correct.

Nice looking dish! I like the Andrews one too!
Thanks.
I don't know how my new neighbors like me now ;)
Was worried about the KU dish now it's a BUD and the KU!

I guess I will find out soon enough.
Then again they could have bought this place torn it down and made a big yard out of it.
It's ugly enough to tear down. (the house that is, aka "The Money Pit")
