Yea, I think it was a good move to admit and apologize. But complaining about the reporter, to me, took a lot away from his apology.

I think the "whites only" era of Baseball is a far worse stain on the game than the "steroid" era. We might just be talking about Josh Gibson and not Babe Ruth.

I read Mike Schmidt book, why are the lovable 1970's not consider tainted, I mean aren't amphetamines performance enhancing?

Alex Rodriguez soon might have to repeat his steroid admission on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) plans to recommend to the head of the congressional committee that has previously hosted baseball players that A-Rod receive an invite to testify about his steroid use, Cummings told Newsday last night.

"I think we're going to have to see what Rodriguez will tell us," Cummings said in a phone interview.

"He is in a confessing mode, so maybe he needs to put his apology into some meaningful action by cooperating with the committee so we can see if there are things we need to reopen to make sure baseball is doing all that it can to rid itself of this kind of practice."

The report was from the policeman who responded according to MLB network who stated he was holding a copy of the police report as he interviewed Selena Roberts. Why would he lie? She seems to have the documentation and the police report to refute what he states. Again, who are you going to believe? Someone who has already lied to you a few times or someone who seems to have the evidence to support her story? A lot of police departments require a report for any response. This seems to be the case with this also.

first and foremost, i know for a fact that police and fire spokesmen lie. many years ago, the orlando paper broke a story about a fire which destroyed a restaurant and killed 2 firefighters was arson. the fire chief was out of town but one of the reporters who broke the story had connections with the fire department. the whole entire weekend, the fire spokesperson said the paper lied. and when the official report was finally released, guess what the cause was.....arson!

and you are correct about many police departments requiring documentation if they receive a phone call. she wasn't cited or arrested.

This is something that has been simmering below the surface for a long time. It was only a matter of time before it would boil over. Blame A-Rod if you like, but he's only one of 104 players who tested positive in 2003. His name was the one released because either someone had it in for him or he's the biggest name, but this is a league-wide issue, not an A-Rod issue.

Who knows how many players would have tested positive if Orza had not tipped them off?

Getting things like this talked about is necessary to get the game cleaned up. The sport needs Olympics-level testing, and congress is the only body that can make that happen.

No doubt policeman, and other people for that fact, do lie. However, my point was simple. We know A-Rod has lied on a few occasions, so why believe him over a person who really doesn't have a dog in the race or whose credibility has not been questioned?

Totally agree. While admitting he did some bad things (although he's not really sure what), he made sure to portray himself as a victim as well.

I agree. The whole interview I was getting the "sorry to be caught" vibe instead of the "sorry" vibe.

Again, I don't believe any substance will be able to help you hit a baseball. It might make you stronger and be able to hit further, be less prone to an injury, and quicker to recover from an injury, but you still have to make contact and I do not know of a substance that will help with that piece of the puzzle.

Not sure if speed really would help a baseball player. It normally gives you dry mouth and makes you jittery. Those are not conditions that normamly allow a person to focus on hitting a baseball. However, in that time frame, 70's and 80's, cocaine was the drug that embarrassed baseball and many of the players. That was also a big black eye for baseball.

I don't believe A-Rod is telling the whole truth either. I totally blame him. Read my posts. But implying the list would name 104 Yankees is wrong.

The best thing that could happen is if there are more big names on that list, regardless what teams they play for. Only when there is enough indignation from fans to keep them from coming to games will there be action. Or if congress gets involved again.

Rodriguez went on to say that Roberts was tossed from his New York City apartment building, that she had to be escorted off of the University Miami campus by police when she sought out Rodriguez at the campus gym on Thursday and that she tried to break into his Miami home where his "children were sleeping".

Look, maybe if I explain how Star Island is, you might understand it better. I have added a pic so you can see. The island comes off the McCarthur Causeway heading toward South Beach...that lone street is the ONLY way in or out. When you get on the street and get to the Island, there is a security guard....UNLESS someone is expecting you, 99% of them time they will NOT let you in. After they tell you no... and you insist on stay, you are now tresspassing.

She was asked to leave private property and she refused, therefore, the security guard called the police. She was escorted out. Like I said, "stalking" might have been too strong of a word...BUT she was somewhere she was NOT supposed to be and NOT allowed to be and she didn't wanna leave.

Jorge Posada was asked about if he was worried about his name being on this list. He said he hoped that he did not put something in his body that would show up positive on those test.

And Derek Jeter was worried about why the list was not kept private.

Guys, Please., Tell the truth.

Oh, And for you Yankee fans, You don't want the rest of the names released.
