I have a slimline 5 LNB multi-sat dish. I travel in a R.V. so I get to align the dish alot. Been using the receiver and 101 to get alignment but an not getting all the channels. After reading the posts, it appears that I need some more equipment to properly align the dish. It appears that a ASL-1 and some kind of 18 volt meter is needed. Could someone please give me some direction?

Go to YouTube and search Directv Slimline install. There are two Dtv factory tech films about 9 and a half minutes each. This will explain the procedure somewhat. You do need a compatible meter. The cheapest one is Acutrac 3.You also need the Asl.You can Google Dtv AT9 instruction manual,or how to dither Dtv slimline dish and the results of the search will bring up instructions on how to aim the dish.Hope this helps you out.
Correction:you only need asl if you have a swm system.if your lnb is not swm, according to the AT9 manual, you may use the meter on the reciever to point the antenna by switching back and forth between 101 and 119 and odd and even trandponders.I still recomend you get a meter either way, since you will be pointing alot. You need to get your hands on a slimline installation manual(Ka/Ku)
