This may be a dumb question to all of you but I am new to this and was wondering if i could pick up the amc1 satellite for german fta on any of the stanard directv or dish network equipment. I am a retailer/installer but know nothing about this. I am also new to posting on your site so hello and thanks for any help.

I assume you are talking about DWTV? If so that is on C-band so you would need at least a 6 foot dish (7+ preferably) and a C-Band LNB

I enjoy DWtv on C-band, there is also a dutch channel (BVN) on ku that you could get with a smaller dish ( 30-36 inch)

I have to say, reception of DW-TV is what got me interested in my TVRO Dish hobby. My 6 footer is permanently parked at AMC 1 with Chaparral dual output feedhorn and Norsat 8515 LNB on the vertical output of the feedhorn. But for reception you need a 6 foot or larger dish, c C band LNB and feedhorn or C band LNBF.
