I got a Vbox X back about 2 or 3 months ago along with an LNBF for my 7.5ft SAMI dish. I hadn't tried to use the diseq settings in the receiver to move the dish until recently and man is that thing the s**tz or what. I had been just writing down each sat position then going to that number manually when I changed sats but last week I decided to try to setup the diseq thingie using my AZBox Elite and that thing works great. Only down side is that I can see that dish actuator life will suffer as it's making it easier to change satellites and I'm doing a bunch more of that now than I have been. Now, if they only made a UHF remote for these receivers...........

Just received 2 more Vbox Xs and one more DMX741s so my other dish will have that same setup in it very soon. When that happens the 4DTV 920 I've been moving that 10ft dish with will go into storage for another time.

Don't ya just love this technology stuff!!:up

Cool!

But...

What ever happened to the Gboxes???

It seemed like the Vboxes were getting slammed and the Gbox was the cats meow!

Some guys even had Gbox underwear and would not tolerate anything else! (GBoxers??? ;))

Is this new Vbox X that much better???

I did find a ole Vbox V in my basement I do not remember buying and have not tried yet!!!... :o

Dunno Dishman. I've read mixed reviews on both and to be honest, I bought a Vbox X because I'm cheap! This is a hobby for me and I can't justify paying near twice the money for something that is "suppose" to work better than this one? The only plus I could find on the Gbox was that it doubles the count on a reed switch but so far THAT hasn't been a problem for me either, even with this 36 CPI SuperJack and yes I'm looking at Ku birds with this system?

No complaints from me on the Vbox X and as I've said before, I liked this one so much I bought two more just like it for my other systems.

But back to my original post, I am impressed with how the diseq system will move the dish thru this Vbox X, GBox or whatever you use. The only thing I would want added to it is UHF but that would have to be on the receiver, not the Vbox X.

Your mileage may vary! ;-)

GBOX underwear ? Do you know where I can get some ? :)
I am a proud Gbox owner, but I've never had a Vbox so I can't comment specifically . I suspect that at least one version of the Vbox was disappointing, hence all the bad press. We're always glad to hear of equipment that works well.
Now, about that Gbox underwear, is it thermal, for use in Michigan, for example ?
:)
