auto shut off feature

I could never get the disable to work on my 222 either. Even when you disable it, after the nightly update happens the receiver goes back to the floating DISH logo. I would set an auto timer to fire off in the morning, but that doesn't seem to work any more. I just gave up and decided to forget about it. My 922 DVR is enough for me to manage anyway.

I love this feature, as someone in my house likes to sleep with the TV on all the time.

That's great, but the option to disable it should actually work. I can't believe that it's been reported as a bug and they still ship software where the disable function doesn't work. At a minimum they should remove the option from the menu until they fix it.

I just checked on two receivers here and this function is still available. To get to this function you would press menu 8 Preferences then 4 Updates. Then you would want to set the number of hours to disable.

I just checked my 722 and 211K. Using menu, 8, 4, as Zach has mentioned shows that I have my inactivity standby set to 'disable.' It works, just as it always has.....

This has got to be the most annoying thing Dish has come up with. Right in the middle of the big play in the SuperBowl, Your reciever is being shut off due to inactivity.

Assuming that you weren't the center of the universe how would you handle it?
