I have had my Hopper for many months and it is filled with movies. How do I backup the drive in case it fails? I do not want to lose everything I have collected. I know I can clone the drive to another 2 TByte drive, but that seems burdensome. By the way I own my Hopper. Can it somehow be backed up to an external hard drive attached to the Hopper. By this I refer to a backup not moved to the external drive. Every drive will die at some point.

NO, all you can do is transfer them to an external drive and clone the drive for a backup

Yes, all drives die at some point. So what did you have in mind backing it up to?

I just put the stuff I really don't want to lose on EHDs and run them as little as possible. Less time ran = less wear and tear = less likely to die. Then I have EHDs for everyday stuff.
