Really large C band dishes have "auto tracking" out of necessity. Every half hour they autotrack using a beacon on the bird. We're talking hundredth's of a degree accuracy.

People repeatedly broke into the facility, and crawled all over everything. Including the dish.

How many of them were SatGuys members?!?

Would have been fun to take control of that dish for a week or so and see what could be picked up (probably everything)

Back in the early 90's, the Brewster Earth Station in Washington state used to broadcast a channel on C-Band called Sky High TV. The employees would be on the air pushing themselves down hallways in office chairs and all sorts of crazy things. It must have been an immense compound. Was really cool to see how an earth station operated.

Used to occasionally go up to the Brewster Uplink when I lived in Portland. Good memories...

It sure has changed since I last visited in the 90's.
