Bryan Singer to direct 'Battlestar' film

Universal picked up the rights in February

Borys Kit

Bryan Singer is attached to direct and produce Universal's big-screen version of "Battlestar Galactica."

The deal hyper-jumps the development of "Galactica," for which Universal quietly picked up the movie rights in February from original show creator Glen A. Larson as the lauded Sci Fi series was wrapping up.

I just can't imagine this actually being a good idea...

Same here... it was already re-imaged in a good way...

Exactly... How do you top the re-imagined BSG that we experienced? And why should it even be attempted?

[dfergie]

I have been eyeballing this though... Battlestar Galactica - (Widescreen Edition) (DVD NEW): N01-079927 iNetVideo.com - Movies, Games, Music (have the Full Screen edition...)

Unless it's a box office flop, in which case they lose $$$$$$$$.

Yes!!

I ordered it. I hope it is as good as the series. I have been watching the series over again now that I got the box BD set. All I can say is WOW it is amazing how much they did in every episode. It was hard watching the series over so many years. When you see every episode back to back it is a great thing.

[dfergie]

I haven't gotten the box set yet, but have the S1 HD DVD and most of the rest archived in HD... Battlestar Galactica was made for a Big Screen or FPTV imho...

This is hilarious.. a headline from a Grand Junction, Colorado newspaper today...

"Voters favor fracking legislation"

Poll: Voters favor fracking legislation

(It has absolutely nothing to do with BSG or what we would think of as "fracking" but the headline caught my eye).

That's pretty fracking funny!
