I am looking to get an extra receiver to go with my geosat 3500 hd. A few questions.

Are alot of feeds h.265?

If so what is the best box for .265 and blind scan?

I seen a koqit .265 but looks like if ships from China, while I can get a .264 here in the states for $35.

any recommendations?

Also what would you suggest for a great ku lnb to add to my 36 inch dish? I currently have a geosat pll2 lnb, but it looks old and I would prefer to order a new one. What is the best one on the market if feed hunting is my main concern?

Geosatpro is very good. Edision SL-2 is great too (look for it on ebay from seller hypermegasat, a fellow forum member. Inverto makes excellent LNBFs but might be hard to find in the US.

as far as receiver, h265 is becoming more and more frequent and I would NOT buy any receiver that doesn't have that capability

well I don't specifically look for feeds, in general, but among regular channels, 265 is becoming more and more common and "normal", and I would expect it to become even more common as it's a lot more efficient and bandwidth is being squeezed. It's not used as much as 264, but it's progressing.

I must say the two receivers I grabbed are maybe the two best I have had.

Koqit .265

Easy to use, small, great and very quick blind scan, has a t scan, and very simple. Very inexpensive too , only $55 online!

Zgemma h9 2s

Got it used for $40!

Very different and takes a bit to learn. It is linux based. Slow, but good blind scan. Has tp sr options on scanning to detail scan. Dual tuner, which is great if you want to run a motorized c band and ku band dish.

All in all I say its been a great $95 spent!
